Yeah it glares badly into my eyes while driving so what i did was black out the bottom of my windshield.

Im addidng this pic so you can take a look at the windshild... Youll see the bottom isnt transparent if you look closely.

I would recommend that anyone looking for a headlight guard go for the metal wire type.

reen... hows your bike doing? Havent seen you on here for a while.
Doing great! The bike has been rock solid and has over 16k miles on it now. I just got an '02 FZ1 last week (amazing) which will pick up most of the daily duty, so now the G will get proper tires, some crash bars, skid plate, and a few other bits and live it up in the dirt!

This was posted in the Terra thread and I wondered what prompted it? I asked there and didn't really get an answer. And what about the Sertao?

Hi Folks - This thread seems to be focused on the newer G650GS models (although I noticed the pic on the OP shows an older F model). Skowinski-wife picked up a 2005 F650GS this past weekend, and we are interested in information/modifications, if there is another thread I haven't seen it... Thanks!

p.s. Already found the f650.com forums, those are helpful.

Help 2012 g650gs

Ok, is the oil supposed to be checked when the engine is running? I checked, not running, it was low 1litre (brand new bike, not ridden since I picked it up from the dealer). I put in 10w40 went for a ride and got oil all over the engine. loosened the top and oil came out. I did check it cold but does it make that much difference?
First ride and I even got a flat! not a good start.

Engine at operating temperature but off, bike upright and level (not on kickstand). The exact procedure is detailed in your owner's manual.

It does make a difference, as you've already demonstrated!
