Any known issues if the factory hand guards clear the windscreen? Any trimming needed?

I put the Sertao one on mine when I bought it and it made a big difference, but I sure wouldnt mind one a bit taller. The price from Revzilla isnt too bad either!

I have the Barkbuster hand guards, and there is no issue at all with the Givi screen. No trimming or modification necessary.

givi screen

well got to put the new higher screen on today
a easy job of 4 screws and thats it
oh as per usual the instructions dont work
it gives 4 rubber washers with the screen which i used as described but also reuse the rubber grommets in the old one to the new screen or its as loose as anything
a side view of the old and new

front view

a comparison of the 2

so after the fit a check and there is no problems with the barkbusters hitting the screen on full lock
have not been for a ride yet to see the difference but did notice some vision distortion ?? looking through it but will see what happens on a ride

Oh shoot! yes sorry I forgot to mention that I used the original rubber washers too.

Yes it's true, I also did notice a little distortion at the beginning but I guess I got completely used to it because I didn't even remember about it.

Nice Pictures!

Is that the OEM center stand or something else?

Just joined the forum. And just got my first BMW bike this past Monday.
I actually consider it my first bike.
I'm 30 now but when I was 18 I had a POS $500 used Suzuki or Yamaha I can't even remember. Used it for 6 months. Finally just getting back on a bike and I had the best week.
Still learning the ropes and getting my bearings back.
At least I remembered how to ride right away.

I'll be taking a safety course soon.

Here are some photos of my new bike.
I'm in love.

Picking up from NYC BMW dealer.

Parked around Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Picking up my new helmet W Bluetooth at union garage in Brooklyn.
(I also got a license plate bracket for easy license plate removal, and gloves).

The helmet

Looking forward to leaning more about the bike and riding in general on this forum!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I really like the white, it's my #1 pick on my short list, although I haven't seen a yellow one yet in real life, just on the BMW page. I hope to be ready to buy next spring.

Best of luck.

Murph.

thanks guys!
now if it werent for this heat wave id be able to enjoy it without sweating.

the bike seems to get pretty hot in this heat, as do the tires.
tires seem mushy.

ive been taking it really easy on turns,
and ive been shutting the engine at longer lights.
any recommendations regarding shutting the engine at lights?
is that good or bad to do?

I can't imagine it's any hotter there than Tx in the summer. I never shut mine off at lights. Check your air pressure, check your coolant level. Change the oil frequently and ride.

Southern California here and I've never had cooling problems on many 100F+ days. The bike is designed to handle it.
