Good luck w/ the new bike...there was a recent write up in one of the magazines about the klx 250 taking on the TAT. I think it was in motorcycle.

Awesome man! I just picked up an '07 DRZ 400 SM on Wednesday, got to take it out for the first time today. I'll be riding all weekend and post up a RR on Monday. That KLX looks awesome, I can't wait to see how you like it as time passes.

I had a comment earlier in this thread that i was looking for a lighter ds. Since then I went out and bought a red '12 klx, yep, just like yours. I trucked it out to the Azna Borrego this week to put some easy brand new miles on it. Prior to taking it out I put on a TCI windscreen(thanks DYNOBOB), and this thing is fantastic. For the slab cruzin' that i was doing, it was providing great coverage, with a simple and qucik removable screen for more serious dirt antics.

This light dual sport has just brought back tons of fun for me. I'm in the same boat as many others here, gettin' older and don't need to 'light' it up anymore. I'm just cruzin' and really enjoying the ride with the liberty to explore some back country if so desired.

Good luck & keep exploring.

Just another short ride today, only 25 miles. But I did get to take it off road quite a bit here on the farm. Still no problems at all.

I kept reading about all the cold starting problems. Its still cold blooded compared to most I have had in the past but I found just adjusting the idle up a lil bit almost took care of my cold start problems. Sure wish it was as easy to start as my honda 4 wheelers. Its 14 years old and starts right up and warms up in about a minute.

Looking forward to seeing more pics!

Another small, light, and nimble bike enthusiast here. That KLX looks like a real nice choice.

Sweet looking bike! We only get them in green over here, which is cool being Kawasaki and all, but the red and black looks pretty sharp.

Love your bike! I love smaller dual sports- I have a Kawasaki Super Sherpa, which is also a 250. Glad you're enjoying yours!

Looks like a great road for a dualsport! Nice also that your wife can go with on her ATV.

A bike and an ATV, that's great that the two of you can get out together! I've had a lot of bikes and have always enjoyed the 250's. The last one was a YZ250F. Living in the mountains, and being rather large, I went back to an XR650R - but the lighter 250 handles so much better in tight spots! Anyway, looks like you made a great choice. Enjoy!
