What, you didn't keep the banana seat!? Looks pretty nice; I ran mine with just the crossovers and no mufflers for a little bit-it actually sounded pretty good. Need to rejet for it, though, and I didn't have any jets lying around. Looks good, and love the wire wheels!

Currently for sale, but if it doesn't sell I might do a little more work to it. Tank, seat, and the like. Maybe an 18" rear wheel from a Hawk. It's really a good commuter, and a lot more efficient than my GS...

Well, the seat is still a work in progress. It's a E-bay 'deep dish solo seat' Nice, heavy gauge steel. The front 'bracket' is just a piece of strap steel with bolts through it and the seat. The front fastens onto the rear gas tank mount.

I don't have the rear of the seat fabbed out yet. I need to make and weld a cross brace onto the frame, then I'm going to drill holes through the back of the seat and tack weld some carriage bolts through the pan.

Right now the rear 'mounts' are just some rubber corks with a split cut into them that are rubber cemented to the frame rails. Just to keep the pan from having metal to metal contact with the frame.

The cover is a single piece of 9oz leather with a bit of crude leather tooling done by me. (haven't tried leather tooling since fourty years ago in Boy Scouts!) I then punched holes around the edge of the leather and used 1/8" lace to make a 'Mexican Basketweave' pattern.

Once I get the bolt/mounts fabbed and welded, I plan on using leather on top and bottom of the seat, with some closed cell foam padding. I'll join the leather using the Mexican Basketweave lace.

This bike is pretty much a no budget build. Just taking my time on it and having fun.

Thanks, man! Yeah first thought on the seat was a giant, black slug. I'm running with just the X-over pipe right now. It's jetted pretty well for that and the Uni-Filters.
