thanks Mark, watching that has made me feel like going for a ride, or breaking out some dance moves.....or maybe both at the same time. . .

Man, that vid is the shit. Even my 5 year old with the attention span of a gnat watched the full 9 minutes. Peppa Pig was on the telly and all, so that's saying something.

When he went on that narrow path, I wondered if I could do that. Then I thought about my daily lane-splitting commute with centimetres to spare between trucks and cars, probably just as dangerous, but for some reason easier to do.

Outstanding vid Marks

We have photos of our bikes parked on a bridge in the vid (edit) bridge at 46 seconds

Recognize a lot of those places

Hey Andi

It's really cool to see an increase of adv riders with a talent for videography

This is another of similar nature where he just does a really nice job putting together an attention grabbing vid

Keeping in theme with the on topic - off topic chat thread... in the whole time I have been riding bikes I have done a pretty good job of avoiding hitting birds while riding (A constant battle on the Coast with Pukekos and Wekas everywhere). My last ride changed all that and I hit two birds in one day, what's the bloody odds of that?!? One was a Pukeko that flew up from the side of the road into my bars, at 100km it is an experience and a half, an adult Pukeko is a fairly sizable bird.

I found that hard to watch - just as I figured out what was going on they cut to a new scene - my poor klr speed brain was getting overloaded...

The pukeko's have organized a suicide pact to rid the earth of you and it began on your last ride. Everything has a logical explanation.

For anyone who no longer frequents kiwibiker. Which is quite a few now it would seem. Not a lot going on really.

Copy and pasted from hawkesbay thread

WWWW Ride
Woodmans Wild Weekend Wonder Ride.

Ok the plan is to meet at the Havelock BP station at 8.30am Saturday 25th. Leave by 8.45am. Route is (loosely):

Ride to Kaharanaki Station-head up to the top of the hill for a gander over the bay- 4wd track steep in places but no too taxing
Then on to Karaka beach, Gavel to Pouriri,
Beach it to Blackhead
Gravel to Parongahu - depending on time and enthusiasim quick run up the Northern end of Porangahu beach
On to Parongahu Pub for lunch

there are a few options for after lunch riding so will be group decision.

Weather looks good so should be a great days sight seeing and adventuring.

Pooks are a constant hazard on my commute to work around the Queen Charlotte Drive each day, I haven't hit one but there have been a few very close shaves.

I have however ran over a turkey on my way through Linkwater, I was slowing fast for a line of them in the distance and one just shot out of the hedge and straight under the front wheel of the wee XT, I managed to keep it upright but that was a hell of a speed bump!

I remember when I lived up in Tauranga, seeing the results of one of the local KBers take a hit from a Pook right on the front of his helmet.
Sqaushed the visor in and made a mess of his nose, he was lucky he'd already slowed right down to turn into his driveway as I hate to think what the results might have been at 100kmh.
