Help with front wheel interchangablity drz400 RM250 dr650?

Hi All,

I have a 94dr350se with a 15mm front axle. I am trying to fit a 98 RM250 fork on it. I beleive it uses a 20mm front axle. I am in the proccess of collecting parts. Just got the fork and triple, about to get a caliper. Now for the front wheel.

I can easily get a RM250 front wheel. Cheap and plentiful. However I have this idea of keep the stock speedo and instrument cluster. I am told a drz400 (2001+) front wheel will fit. Including the speedo drive . Can anyone confirm this? From other readings DR650 front wheels and drz400 wheels are interchangeable. Any idea on the truth of this statement.

Or should I jsut say screw it and get a Vapor or similar after market speedo.

Thanks
