oil cooler guard

Pretty boring here with snow on the ground. Made an oil cooler guard from flat aluminum and angle iron. Mounted with industrial strength velcro until I see if it blocks too much air or not. If the velcro holds ok, I might just leave it. No new holes.

I was going to make a headlight guard too, but on closer inspection, it has the 3m clear film on the headlights.

Nice thread, there's some amazing work here.

I would like to know what size feet you have to require a gearshift extender, definitely larger than me! :)

This didn't require any great tooling, but I felt it was important, none-the-less. I made a screen that fit inside the snorkel to prevent the mice from climbing in and building a nest in my air box. Wish I could post a pic, but I'm not thaaaaaat smart.

Used 7 inch round clear headlight protectors. These were sold years ago and used primarily to protect car headlights while driving gravel roads. They were popular mods for folks driving the Alcan Highway. I used the stock PIAA plastic covers, cut the flat centers out of them, and mated the car light protectors to them. Several seasons ago I busted one of my eyes covers and ended up using the remaining good one as a mold and made 2 fiberglass inserts. The key is using a stock light cover that fits/attaches well and building the concave inserts.
Molds could be plastic bowls. styrofoam, tin foil, anything that gives you the desired final shape. Hope this helps. Fite

Similar to others...added an aluminum backing plate to stop the mud, lowered the box so lower side is supported with adel clamps around the cross brace. Orange box only because that's what was laying around. Rubber flap for mud flap.

Fly rod carrier

Here is a fly rod carrier I made from a magnetic base carrier and an aluminum bracket I mounted to the beak attachment bolts. A little suction cup hook at the top of the wind shield to stabilize rod. Worried suction cup wouldn't hold on rough roads but no issues.
