I am not so interested in preserving a vintage part as with ruining it. There are a
number of /2 front ends around that are no longer straight because they got hacked up and either sprung when the brace was removed or warped when they were welded. There may well be an alternative to gain clearance. Swapping the timing cover worked for me on a /2 conversion project...

The motor sits farther back in the frame on a /2. I have not cut anything yet. I've actually been looking at modifying the /7 frame instead.

I have been working on the frame and collecting parts. I hope to have the sidecar attached and it rolling on all three this week.

Picked up a pre war BMW gas tank and headlight.

...and figured out what to use for a front brake.

I would call this an under statement!!! More like I've redesigned the frame for my own needs / setup!!!

Anyway what kind of rear suspension are you going to use???

I'll speak for all:

A lot of us are jealous because pics that you are showing are way beyond our home garage / workshop skills.

Thanks. I have been building custom BMW's and sidecars for almost 25 years and the tool collection and my imagination has grown a lot over the years.
No rear suspension just a sprung seat. I'm going for that Pre War BMW look. I'll keep the pictures coming. There are more pictures HERE

I've had a tubing bender for many many years. I think about it from time to time. would folks pay $2k for a leading link?
