Definitely a fun ride. Was great to meet so many of you. Sorry I missed out on some of the fun on the way back.

I am still hanging out in Moab waiting for my friend to arrive, but ended up with some excitement of my own. I let the magic smoke out of my DR650. Was running fine over the last several days, and even started up fine this morning. I was riding down to Moab Powersports & Rentals to get some new goggles because mine were disintegrating, when it backfired once, I pulled in the clutch and it died.

After I tried all I could (had gas flow, spark, it cranked and turned over), it looks like no spark). I even put in some spare plugs to try out, but no dice. I managed to push it the last few blocks down to Moab Powersports. Even though they are a Yamaha outfit, they are very kindly going to try and help me figure out the problem. Stator? Coil? CDI? , if I happen to figure it out by the end of today, my friend might be able to pick up the parts in Denver and bring them out and get me riding again.
Here is crossing my fingers.

And for those that want to know, Moab Powersports is under new ownership (as of September 2011) and is really making a push to be helpful to bikers coming through town. They are even setting up a resting areas for riders on the TAT to relax in AC when coming through town.

WilderRider, if your friend doesn't have luck getting you parts in Denver, maybe try Motorcycle Accessories in Grand Junction. They have a pretty odd assortment of new and used parts...just a thought...

A few pics for the group

Okay, here are a few pics of the group

Pre Ride chats on Friday morning at Monument RV Park Fruita, CO .

The Rabbit Valley Rendezvous, ahhh the sun and what a handsome lot of bikes and bikers!

The Hill of Blood Sweat and Gears...well not so much blood. Who the hell put this on the Kokopelli?

It took ALOT of teamwork to get up this hill! Cursing, crawling and grunting helped too

Here is Lov2ski or should we call him Lov2wallowinmud ? Please tell me someone got this on video!!! Scott if you want me to email you these pics I have 3 good ones of your mud bath, just pm me .

The river looks nice from here.

And yes... here is the overloaded TW200! 3.2 beer never tasted sooooo goooood than after this long day!

Had a blast guys and gals. See you on many more rides!

Thanks for the tip. I will give them a call tomorrow. I did confirm it is my pick up coil. Better to have happened in town than on kokopelli

Great time!

It was wonderful to meet you all and put some faces to names. Marty and Laurie - thanks so much for your generosity. Big John and Matt - thanks for organizing this ride and handling logistics. I had a great time and look forward to more get-togethers with you all!

On Saturday, we did an out and back on the easy part of Kane Creek, then the Slickrock trail. Way fun! We had no major 'events', though Laura did have a spectacular endo in Rabbit Valley at the beginning of the ride, shook it off and rode on. Tough gal for sure. All of our bikes did great and the beer sure tasted good at the end of each day!

I didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few...

Problem?

I guess I should have taken the "trail" part of the name more seriously.

Nice Pics Scott

If ever I need my flat tire fixed, I'm paying Adam. About 20 minutes and it was ready to reinstall. One heck of a nail though and it completely sheared the tube in half. Never seen that before!

Great riding with ya'll. Hope to do it again soon.
