A 1964 Chevrolet short bed pickup. Complete with 350 and side pipes. Glorious!

1968 912. It had a lot of rust issues but the engine was strong and it was peppered with early 911 and late 356 parts that were would have been worth 5x what I sold it had I parted it out. I actually started with the 73 super beetle that my parents bought new just before I was born but I sold it to buy the Porsche before I turned 16. No pictures exist of course.h

'68 Olds F-85. Was a sweet ride that I bought at 14 with funds earned from taking care of the hog dogs between about nine and 14....
LOVED THAT CAR, and I'll own another one day. I have left my card on one here in town three or four times asking the guy to call me if he ever wanted to sell it, but no luck yet... Buzztail screwed with this post 02-11-2012 at 05:32 AM |

1968 Charger with a 383 four barrel, pistol-grip shifter and air shocks in the back so I could jack it up for that much-coveted dragster look. I bought it when I was 15 and rebuilt the engine in shop class.

Well all you jacklegs had cooler rides than me. I had a 79 Duster (technically it was a Volare with the Duster trim pkg) equipped with a slant-6 and a Torqflite 727. Bought it in summer '86 for $700 worth of yard-mowing money. It got 16MPG regardless of how ya drove it...

As my second daughter has just reached the teenage years i've wondered what will be their means of transportation will be. Pretty sure one will be getting new Converse unless attitude and grades improve. The other, being interested in outdoor activities may end up with a Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee.

Rusted puke green '65 Chevelle Malibu 2dr hardtop. Bought it from a surfer dude in gulf breeze in 1977 for 300 bucks. 283 2bbl 2speed powerslide. Did LOTs of bodywork & then brought it to earl schibe for a coat of Corvette sunfire yellow ("We'll paint ANY CAR for 99.95!"). Cut the single exhaust off and clamped on some hush thrush cans. Recapped 70s on the back, 78s up front, dog dish hubcaps, air shocks, hoodpins, and a confederate flag front license plate. 165 horsepower of sheer go nowhere fast! Man did that green vinyl interior go swell with that yellow paint! Even after all the bodywork (bondowork), I had to bail out the floorboards after any heavy rain due to the water working in from somewhere around the windshield.
The terror of Escambia High School 77 & 78 ;-) [NOT]

1971 Toyota Corona Wagon
Traded my 1966 Gibson Melody Maker for it.. Got the guitar back a year later.
Also had a TS 185 that I rode to school in Tampa..

Buddy (daburn) had a 66 Belvedere punched blueprinted 440+ci full house 727TF. No Nox. Just carb. Sat even, black on black. Perfect black interior. Florida glass. Only prob was the peg leg. Couldn't get traction. Damn cool car. (Like the blown sebring/sattelite behind it too!)

Vic -- That same dude "daburn" Jeff... Before I had my first car, I met Jeff in Woodcliff. I was riding my TS50J. His 55 was a black 55 post. I think he got his in 74...American Racing "torque thrust" mags (like the front of that belvedere), yellow Mr. Gasket Traction Bars, a Mr. Gasket three on the floor. He cycled thru (blew up) like 4 small blocks and 2 rear end chunks with me. I helped him replace almost everything. Best arrangement was the hyper 327 with the 4:88 posi. Man did that shoebox have some wheelhop! Felt like American Graffitti all over again on Creighton and 9th Ave! Many, many nights cruisin University mall and other places....
