No xrays of his feat, but back in the late 60s, a HS classmate had his hand resting on top of a standard (for that era) bumper jack. Unfortunately the car was jacked up higher by some other jacks which let it fall - onto his hand. The top of the jack passed cleanly up between his two middle knuckles with no broken bones. Only a split hand.

He was back in drafting class on Monday morning with just a bulky gauze dressing holding it together. Lucky FF on that one.

(Same guy showed up at school during hunting season with about three shotgun pellets in one cheek.)

And yes, I've since replaced those automotive exhaust clamps with the real deal (and hooked the breather back up after measuring the blowby oil from one 1400 mile trip).
