You can count on an epic snowstorm Wednesday.

How do I know? I'm in St. Martin and my sweetheart is left at home to deal. If that wasn't enough the snowblower is currently out of action.

This could restore the winter I broke when I bought her snowshoes for Christmas. While I've been enjoying bonus days in the woods on the 450, she has yet to try the new snow gear.

Info

If anyone wants to chat about the best riding pants....
I am looking for advice...

I am looking for something that will work in the spring, summer, and fall..
Go over jeans if needed...and is waterproof...

I am leaning towards.BMG ( recommended by liloita) Overpant as opposed to the Pioneer but not sure
They use the 500 Denier Cordura which seems different than the Tour Master pant under consideration..

I have a pair of Klim Latitude goretex pants that are very warm, water proof and have huge ventilation panels. I would recommend a pair of those.

Olympia also makes a good overpant, but their sizing is weird and do not fit me well.

Of all the junk I've bought/sold over the years the one thing I've never considered selling is my Motoport stretch over pants. It really doesn't get much better. The liner is a royal PITA, it's so damn goofy I've only used it a couple times. If you can get beyond that, or wear rain pants over they are king.

Part of what is so good about them is their versatility. They breathe, but somehow are pretty warm. Considering how warm they are, they do ok in heat. Not as good as they claim, but ok. Alright, they're friggin hot in the summer, but they go on/off so fast you can whip them off quick.

They're not considered waterproof, but if you keep them treated it'll take a good 45 min. of hard, solid, driving rain before they start leaking through the fabric.

I've had mine for around 5 years, and they're the best clothing decision I've ever made. They're built like a tank. Extremely protective, esp. with Quad armor and hold up to my abuse. Custom to your specs within reason. They really are as good as "they" say they are. Happy to meet somewhere to show you mine.

I'll be riding :) Actually, I really do want to ride as none of you have seen my sweet Franz Biberkopf, aka as the commutah scootah, but I think the cheese will try to talk me out of it.

I finally got around to calling Harry's and they have a room upstairs that can handle 40 people. So we have no worries I'll call Natasha tomorrow afternoon with an estimated head count.

As for parking, I wouldn't park up along North Main near the Roger Williams historic site. It's really dark there and just gives me the creeps. My NYC radar says it's not a good place unless you're looking for a swift one off the wrist.

Mill's Tavern takes all the street parking for its valet service. There is off-street parking for the Preservation Society that you can use (I've parked there during WaterFire). Make a right onto South Court Street (it's the street right after the firehouse). Go up about halfway and turn right into a lot behind a really old brick building. No one will bother you.

6:30-ish

I'm looking forward to talking without feeling like we're wasting good riding weather.

You'll be in a good company with A LOT of gear whores.

btw jimwilliams, you better show up. If you're willing to be raffled off to someone for the libraries, you should be able to handle a bunch of morons from the Internet (right Rob?!).

If its really bad out, I'll have to bail. Rear wheel drive is not fun in nasty weather, especially on a school nite.

how bad can it be with forecast temps in mid 30's?!

also it will turn to rain by 5 pm with temp rising to upper 30's, so say the weather predictors...
