DT250 Engine and frame number info

I have been given what I think is a 1975 DT250, but Im not quite sure if it is.
The engine and frame numbers match and are 575-000228. Ive found a site that lists engine numbers and year models but the numbers dont quite match.
Can anyone shed any light on this bike for me?
Cheers
Craig

Are you sure about the number? Does not match anything I can find. You should post this question on yamahaenduro.com

Heres a couple of pics of the bike. The tank is an aftermarket job. But the numbers are exactly what on the Steering head and engine block.
I have had a few DT250s around the 74-76 era. However Ive never seen one with this type of head. It also came with an MX head and exhaust. Both heads are differents to the point as the MX head has the fins cut down on the opposite side of the head as the one on it.

Frorks and rear wheel are from an 81 DT250 by the looks of it.

Looks like you got a great deal, you should give the guy you got it from a whole heap of beer and cash...

If it helps, this is pretty much how it looked when I got it.

Naaa. he`d probably spin me some sob story of how he had to dismantle it just to get it in the ute and drag it half way round the country side for me.
Thanks for the original pick. Tank tells me straight away its a 1976 DT250C as it also still has the twin shock frame. Pity that tank was cactus. I want a small slimline tank for it.
Was only in the Nabiac Motorcycle Museum a few days ago and they a few on the wall that would have been great.

Thanks for that FR700.
Great bit of info. My list of model numbers only had the 1976 DT250C starting with 450-500101 and the 1977 DT250D starting with 1M1-000101
cheers
