*whew* I was afraid there wouldn't be anyone in Alaska posting here! (Fairbanks doesn't count - you people are strange up there ) Would love to chip in for this, maybe offer up some space (depending on needs), in fact pretty much anything but coffee. Having been to Guatemala (Tikal, specifically), I can truthfully say that I've *never* had coffee anywhere that was as good as they have there.

Subscribed to this RR and eagerly awaiting more pics!

The day we left Queretaro , everybody in the B&B where we stayed wanted to take a picture of the crazy couple on the bike, we felt like some celebrities at a photosession

We then took the Libre all the way to Valle de Bravo, where we would spend the Easter week in the house of our friend Carlos . We met him 3 years ago on one of our bike trips in Chiapas .
Thje road towards Toluca was nice, lot of turns and very little traffic , except for this trailer who was blocking both lanes ; it took him 15 minutes to finally get out of the way

Once we got closer to Toluca, we got a great view of the snow covered Nevado de Toluca

For the 4th morning in a row we have been waking up in a house with the possiblity to go in the kitchen and prepare our own breakfast, exactly the way we like it. It has been a VERY relaxing change!
Muchisimas gracias Carlos for your hospitality!!!!

Valle de Bravo is a nice small town in the mountains some 80 KM west of Toluca . It has highest percentage of motorcycle per capita in Mexico , tons of bikes . Also a lot of extreme sports like hanggliding, rockclimbing etc.
The town it self is colonial , nice narrow streets

and handsome photographers carrying a helmet ...

Life in Valle de Bravo is really tough , so it is kind of hard to get out and do much...
Fresh trouts from a nearby river

Never the less , yesterday we went for a short ride up the mountains to the spot where all the hangglider and parasailer take off . Great view of the laqke from up there

This couple of friends of ours came up from Gatemala to spend Semana Santa with us

Who is that beautiful woman you picked up there? Oh! that's Luisa F.! Hope she is enjoying it as much as you have, and left all the problems behind. I'll keep on following your RR to the end.

Thanks for staying in touch!
So far she is and since she sold part of her bussiness all she needs to do is adjusting to her role as (almost) silent shareholder and most of her worries are left behind .

Yesterday we went for a short ride and hike in the mountains surrounding Valle de Bravo and Avandaro . There are lots of small rivers and nice waterfalls , the most famous one is El Velo de la Novia (The veil of the bride)
After a short walk we could spot the waterfall in the woods

Once we got closer to it , we could see it much better

A little walk further down there was an other smaller fall

From there we kept on walking on a small path downhill towards the Lago Avandaro

It was early in the morning and still really quiet out on the water, so what better thing to do then an early morning siesta??
