This morning , after a one week long vacation in Valle de Bravo , hosted by our friend Carlos we finally had to leave . Carlos is an incredible host and gave us an unforgettable week in his home .

He let us stay us in his gorgeous guesthouse and made us feel at home

He also had all this inside information , that only locals have :Where to get the best Michelada in town , who makes the best ceviche , who is who,...
On the last evening , we went out one more time with Carlos to enjoy the great local food at Mariscos El Lobo

Once again , MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS Carlos for everything !!!

So finally this morning we had to say goodbye , not only to our friend and his home , but also to his 3 great dogs , Loba,Falcor and Coco that we played with a lot , during the last week

Morelia

Morelia seems to be a really nice and interesting city so far.

This morning before sunrise , I went out for a walk in the awaking city , by myself because there was no way I could get my wife out of bed that early . Here a few pics from what I saw

Morelia has so much to see and to do , seems like the day is not long enough . We have been walking around all day long , enjoying the city , eating great food , and more walking . Now a little break and at night we will go to a guitar concert with music from Venezuela .
We are staying at a great place here in Morelia, La Casona Rosa http://www.facebook.com/lacasonarosa
Very good location , good and safe indoor parking for the bike

Nice atmosphere for relaxing after a long day on the street

And the rooms are very big and well decorated , but with one big downside : My wife likes it so much , that I have a hard time talking her into leaving the room and get out on the street

Ruta de las Mil Cumbres

Just got back from motorcycle heaven !!!

The Ruta de las Mil Cumbres is incredible : We went 80 KM up the mountains toward Ciudad Hidalgo and than the same 80 KM back to Morelia . If it would have been up to me , I probably would have done it twice
There was no traffic at all , turns after turns on an incredibly well designed road , great pine forest on both sides with lots of openings with great view down the valleys and on the Mil Cumbres , the thousand peaks .

I stopped over and over to take more photos , my copilot was not to happy about all this getting up and down from the bike

The way the turns are designed , allow you to take them at a real nice speed

The shooter got shot...

Finally we had brunch at this place , homemade Chorizo and fried pineapple , Ahhuuuuaaaaaaaaa

  1. Patzcuaro....good choice. Stay overnight making this your base!
  2. Santa Clara....small but very quaint...few hours is more than enough
  3. Lago Zirahuen...close to Santa Clara...make it part of the day
  4. Quiroga...las Carnitas in the plaza...not particulary a restaurant...and a nice COLD cerveza o dos!

KTM...a VERY worthy beast to share the garage with the GSA. Thanks for asking.

and....Jean Luc?
