Julio,

I enjoy following your travels, but again, for me, your photos are the best part. You really have a good eye for composition and subjects.

I am in Santa Ana, Costa Rica with my two girls. Headed for La Fortuna and Volcan Arenal today. Trying to get my head wrapped around 10'000 Collones = $20USD.

Thanks for all the work and effort that you put into this ride report. I've really enjoyed following your trip and it brought back some nice memories for me.

Hola Barb,
yes I will be back on time for the arrival of my sons ! They prepared a great Christmas-New Year adventure for me that includes a lot of 4WD driving and a long hike to El Mirador, the biggest Mayan site in the northern Peten.
Hope everything is OK at your end !

We had a very early dinner because the restaurant closes at 5.30 pm ; no more food or cold beer after that

So we decided to order some fajitas de pollo and some beer and wait until the temperature of the beer would rise close to its acceptable limit . When that moment came we set down to dinner : The fajitas were to cold and the beer to warm , but it was good and we enjoyed it

Don't let our faces fool you

The next morning we got up early, we wanted to get to the border before the heat started. We were up and ready early , but the gate was locked and nobody around to open it up

After some time , somebody showed up and let us out

And so now we were on our way to our last border crossing on this journey...lots of intense feelings along the road , on both seats of the bike ,hard to describe. Sometimes it was even hard to focus on the road, my mind was not there all the time.

But nevertheless , we made it to the border

It didn't take us long to return the TVIP, get my $400 back and ride on for another 4 KM before arriving at our side of the border.
Most of this 4 KM we were holding each others hand and I felt just so lucky to have a wife that is crazy enough to hold up with my crazyness and for sharing this journey with me . Gracias , mi amor !!
