So, I made some 25mm bar risers, TIGed up some pannier racks, beefy mount for the LED bar, got a Starcom1 with an 80ch UHF off eBay, unifilter 'pre-filter', Aldi tank bag, Barkbusters and some other camping goodies.

Just got to do an oil change and I'm off next week....

Where are we again?

Here's a good vid for removing the tank

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBsuUqPoF2M

Now how do I remove the fuel gauge sender from the tank and fit into the Safari or do I lose that when I put the big tank on?

fuel pump and all electrics etc go on the new tank in 1 piece

from memory the float has a seperate mount in the tank but its impossible to fuck it up. bracket provided

safari are aware the fuel guage is not calibrated. word was they were colaborating on a software fix with triumph about a year ago but have heard nothing more

the guage says full for the first 200km or so. digital fuel computer range to empty is wrong too. well, more wrong than usual.

i use km/ litre and trip dist for idea on range

Your safari tank should have come with a bracket and some bolts for the stock sender to mount into.

Once you pull out the fuel pump from the bottom of the tank you should be able to work it out.

Just be careful routing the wiring when you put it back together, so the fuel sender arm doesn't get tangled up with it.
