Here are a few photos of food from when I was there last July.
Baby pig: ![]() Sea Snails (disgusting but I had to try them): ![]() Cobra--it was brought in live and they killed it while we watched, drained the blood and gall bladder then boiled it right there at the table. Anyone who says it tastes like chicken simply has not eaten it. It tasted like used bicycle tires: ![]() Toasting with the blood (mixed with vodka): ![]() I really enjoyed the pho and salad rolls. The tea was also wonderful. I may end up having to go back to Vietnam for work in a few months. Anyone there I can tap into as a resource for information? |

Wow, great pics folks.
![]() Here is Com Tam (with grilled pork) a common street vendor offering in Vietnam. And of course Nuoc Mia (sugar cane juice).

i really wish i would have taken pictures of the food i had while i was out there. spent time in Can Tho, Phu Quoc and Vung Tao. my favorite dish by far was bahn xeo there was a restaurant in Can Tho that was just heads above all the other places that served it. its been a year since i was in Vietnam, and every day i wish i could go back, i guess i need to save more money!
i know nearly 0 vietnamese, but i learnt just enough to order iced coffee with cream, Cafe Ho tan, and ask for the bill, all i really needed :p google maps of Vietnam is really out of date, but the restaurant i was thinking of is roughly here: 10.04403,105.79004 in the map it is trees, but now its a solid strip of stores and restaurants. theshaneler screwed with this post 04-11-2012 at 10:38 PM |
