Tick-tock
This time next month I'd better be through the finish line with a cold barley pop in hand I'm sure the margaritas will be polished off by then

I'm both excited and nervous but overall ready. I honestly may ride a couple more times and then just work on my mental and physical state.
I've been on the spin trainer every other day to keep my cardio going and will now start with some upper body conditioning. I feel strong in my upper body but I do suffer from wrist pain, probably carpal tunnel, so I will work on trying to alleviate those issues. The best thing I've discovered is just simply taking a rubber band and putting it around all five fingers at about the nail and spreading my fingers apart. I'll do this while driving down the road in my work truck or while sitting in front of the t.v.
Today I received the last of what I think I'll need to get the bike ready. Wheel bearings, grips, brake pads, plug, chain and slider,... Tomorrow my new plastics should arrive and then shortly after that my new Attack graphics will arrive. By the way I'll be sporting the number O28. Wave as you go by

The daily delivery of parts, the money spent, and all the training will help but here is what will get me to the finish....
My good luck bracelet made by my beautiful daughter. In Honda colors of course.
Thanks Lydia.

I received my final information packet today. A very detailed 40 page book for my pit crew and 2 pages of dangers for me. Yikes
I have a strange feeling in my guts. Fear, anxiety, excitement.... Not sure which one, probably all three.
I've been staying on the exercise bike and have started on some upper body weight training.
As for riding, I had a great ride last Sunday with Frog on some single track in the mountains. Nothing high speed but good time on the pegs. I may ride once more this week to try a new gearing combination, I'm trying for more top speed, and then I'm done until the 17th. I'll tear the bike down, check and re-check everything, bolt on all the new bits, get my spares in line, and work out my pit strategy with my crew. Every day I add something new to my "items to pack list". I've never been this organized, but this is a little different than showing up at your hotel in cabo and realizing your swim trunks are still in the dresser at home. I figure being a little nervous is a good thing, means I am taking it seriously which hopefully will make me avoid doing anything too stupid... like charging hard into a blind corner and having a massive wipeout.

Don't worry too terribly much about the dangers list, it appears to be really more for the cars/trucks.
Good info to be aware of for sure, but the course is typically very well marked approaching and including the dangers.
First year we did the race I even went as far as to make a roll chart with all the dangers, after that I didn't bother.
Every time I passed one I usually wondered why I even slowed down, but then again I'm certainly no Johnny Campbell

I considered doing some type of roll chart but I honestly don't think I would remember to look at it :)

I went out for one last ride this evening to test a new gearing combination and had a little get off. Really little, but when I picked the bike up I saw this. SOB!

Caught a rock just right.
This will be expensive ;(
Anyone have an extra left side case cover laying around. :$

As soon as I got home I started working. The part I was most concerned with was getting the bolt straight enough to back it out. I was able to get vise grips on the head of it and apply enough pressure to get it straight. Now time to order parts. Or maybe have a welder look at it.

Take it to lindsey machine he can probably fix it. Just tell him you need it for v2r so he gets working on it.
