I'm looking forward to you FFs stopping by especially since my dad's a goner and by the time of the Rallye I'll be ready for a bender. You probably remember that my dad has lived in Panama half-time or full-time since 1960.

1960-1963 stationed in Panama
1963-1971 back-and-forth
1972 he drove an International Travelall to Panama, pulling a camper, with me, my brother, my sister, my mom, my grandfather, and two of my uncles
1972-1986 back-and-forth, about 60% in Panama.
1992-2011 winters in Panama

That's like 50 years of Panama. He says it was a good life.

John's pics are always worthless without posts. I mean his posts are worthless without pics.

Max,

Bummer about your dad. But it sounds like he's led the kind of life I wish I would have led. I believe him - it was a good life.

We'll all be glad to help you with that bender!

So much for our "friendly" neighbors from the north. I posted a thread about our rally in the Canada regional forum and someone moved it to the "Crap from RF: Canada" thread.

Having had several attendees from the frozen north in our previous rallies I thought they were pretty good FFs.

Someone up there doesn't seem to think so. So, all I have to say is FYYFF!!!!

Of course, seeing as I'm doing some OJT for the ALARR bender with Bannannannannaman I might be wrong but I get the impression our canuck friends didn't like my post.

No - you need to read the site rules - New Site Wide Rules & How We Roll.

Specifically the one that says "3. No cross-posting. (This is posting the same topic in more than one forum) However, there are times when it's okay to do so with the permission of a mod, or if it's explicitly permitted in the rules of a forum." All of the other threads have been punted to Head Explody.

And then, there is this one: "1.Respect both forum moderators and administrators. It is a thankless job that they do, and cleaning up other people’s messes is never fun."

If you would have asked first, you would have been told "no, sorry, you can't cross post to all the regionals"

This thread is appropriate in the Central Region, or maybe Upcoming. Send a PM to Retro if you would like it in Upcoming.

No excuses. You're absolutely correct. I didn't read the forum rules and should have.

I do understand and appreciate how difficult mods and admins have it trying to keep up with this forum.

My apologies and it won't happen next year.

Well, this FF (friendly frozen) neighbour to the north (east, actually, in relation to WI) would come, but I'll be up north of there somewhere in a canoe on those dates. It's what we do when we aren't riding somewhere

I'm in... I hope

I'm going to try to make it again as I'm located so close (sorta). Now I live in Kansas City and have a real job.. buying a house again.

Hopefully I'll be able to make the 8 hour drive on my F650gs. Unfortunately, I've been working 7 days a week and have canceled all my other trips I've had planned this summer, but hopefully things will be a little bit under more control.

What's the temp there at night in late July?

Look fwd to seeing all you FFs!
