AZ Photo Radar

Anyone ever get a ticket in the mail by photo radar when riding your bike with a full-face helmet? I'm wondering if they just throw those out since they can't confirm the rider and it would be easy to dispute. Any experience?

I was told they didn't even bother to send them out.
I guess you won the prize?

Man, you've got 2 questions about tickets here. What are you trying to tell us.
By the way, don't look under the shit load of sombreros in the back of your truck, there may be some illegals under them.

Hey hey hey, no names Jeff, we don't need to mention any names that might incriminate!

I'm just getting annoyed by all these reduculous laws in place to try to control law-abiding citizens and at the same time make big profits for the cities and photo camera operators.

True story; Last year the town of Prescott Valley was given a $400K grant from Homeland Security to fight terrorism. What did they do with the money you ask; they bought more photo radar installations!!! So I say 'F-em!

Ignore it!

like most things in life, if you ignore it it will go away!

but don't take my word for it:

good luck, and just don't answer your door for a little while (or ever, as unless you're expecting company, it's going to be a stranger trying to get money out of you).

They have to serve you in person. You do not have to identify who is in the picture if it is not you, or is unidentifiable.

I know people who have registered the vehicle the guy drives in the wife's name and vice-a-versa. That way the wife gets the ticket in the mail and she copies her DL and states it is not me. Even though the letter asks for an identification, it is not required by law.

Yes, but Scottsdale (and Show Low, IIRC) have what's called "alternate service." They don't have to serve you in person. The process server just has to petition the judge for alt. svc. by saying they have made three unsuccessful attempts. Once alt. svc. is granted, they tape the notice to your door and you're considered served and then you also have to pay their $30 fee with your fine. Happened to my wife and the summon listed the process servers three attempts, which were complete lies, I mean egregious lies. My wife has prepaid legal through work, so we called them and they said Scottsdale City Court is a railroad and you have no chance once alt. svc. is done. The court is not interested in keeping the process servers honest, just that you pay up.
