The KLR is often recommended, sometimes as a joke.

In this case, I have to agree though. Sell both your current bikes, and pay cash for a farkled KLR. Put what ever money you have left in a savings account and start adding to it. In a couple of years, you can pay cash for a Multistrada or 800XC, which would also be good for trips like this.

Live in the present, not making payments on the past...
