Mid-east rides 4/23-4/24

Anybody riding this weekend? I'm hoping to get out on Sunday for a bit, might head down to Michael's in Chapel Hill for breakfast.

I was thinking of something for Sunday. If I could change my tire on my XR, I'd do dirt. Otherwise I'm GSing it. Couldn't go down to NC though. Charlottesville is sort of my range for a day.

I'm in the same boat, gotta get a tube changed on the KLR (it's still holding air, WTF?), it'll probably be a GS day for me unless I get really motivated tomorrow.

Have a great time in Pittsburg, Omar. Sunday is good for me next weekend as well -- hope we can meet up.

I'm not riding either (got out 3 days last week though). We closed on the new house Wed. so we're busy painting, fixing.
Grimmboy was welding up a set of wide pegs for the Transalp yesterday, SST's bike is there getting serviced. They may be up to a ride.

Next weekend may be good for me too...or during the week if anyone is available. I just got back from Jamaica and a rum stupor.

Let me know what you guys come up with for the coming weekend, if anything at all, so far looks rainy. I did a really nice pavement route last weekend that took me out 250 to WV, then back via 33 to Harrisonburg. I think I covered 450 miles that Saturday - prolly nothing for you guys, but for me, was a good day ride.

How'd you make out over the weekend, Omar? I married into a Jewish family

Unless you're an IronButt veteran, that's a good long ride for anyone.

Wish we had met up, that's a great route that I could ride over and over again.

Yeah, I was down your way, but realized that I had no way of getting in touch with you

I started at Morton's BMW's open house, took 20 to C'Ville, drove thru the E-School, bad memories...then out 250 past Monterey, to 28 in WV up to Judy Gap, then 33 to H-burg, then 81 to 66, as it was getting late.

I hear that 33 just gets better the farther you go west in WV, and there was some post within the last month about a day trip to Parsons, WV that sounded awesome.

I live right off 250 in Augusta County and would enjoy giving you the tour out thru WV soon, the only problem is I screwed my no longer young body up a month ago and will be getting surgery on Monday the 2nd of May. The Doc says by the middle of May I should be back in the saddle ready to roll. Anyhow, there is a new house in the works that is within sight of the BRPK and Skyline drive with a nice big yard for evening meet, greets, grills and beverages under the stars for anyone else passing through this summer.

Later,
Adrian

Adrian, thanks for the invite, would love to take you up on that. Aging sucks - I have torn cartilage in my right knee, I've also had it reconstructed twice, but I need surgery again as well Best of luck!

Maybe this coming weekend.

This past Sunday was my first day off in five weeks. I had planned to hit Michael's but ended up just snoozing late and watching the trees outside the window.

I love Michael's. If any of you folks haven't been there yet, it's a treat. Bring your digital camera.

I did the same thing, it's those pesky Saturday night gigs. Maybe next weekend for me, too.
