Some 6xx questions...(640 Adv/ F650 GS)
Hello ladies and gents-
This is a great website and I have learned a lot about some bikes that I am looking at. I am considering either the F650 GS or KTM 640 LC4 Adv. as a second bike. I'd like something that is comfortable two-up and equally good on and off-road. I'd like something that I can take to work occasionally (no highways otw to work) yet something I can take about anywhere but the moto-x track. I do all my own maintenance, so dealer ups/downs are of low importance. Since these are all popular bikes, I assume a few people here have had to make this same decision. What positives/negatives did you find out researching these bikes? A few specific things I am concerned with: -I'm 5'8" (32" inseam) and about 155lbs. Will the 640 Adv. drop a few inches with weight on it? For comparison, the F650 GS is just about the right height. The Dakar I could probably manage on paved road. I think it would be hard to crawl around rough terrain with a Dakar- I have to stand on my toes to hold the bike up. -Anyone have any mileage figures for the 640 Adv? -The F650 GS seat appears to accomodate a passenger better. Any major complaints from 640 Adv. passengers in this area? Overall, I really like both bikes... maybe the KTM a bit more. I have ridden neither of the bikes yet, but I hope to soon. Thanks in advance for anyone's response! Jason Atlanta, GA jasonixo screwed with this post 05-06-2005 at 02:45 PM Reason: typo |
