Camera Awesome

Hey, we've been working on an app worthy of the fantastic hardware that the iPhone has and we turned it loose on the App Store a few days ago. We didn't know what to expect, but it rocketed to the #2 app on the store with a million downloads already.

Anyway, we made it because we thought it'd be cool for guys like us who need a small camera that you can still get great pics with. Here's a leetle video I made about it:

And how do I upload more than one photo at a time to my Smugmug?

Oly, the zoom is right above the camera button you use to take the pic. It's in the actual viewfinder area and you have to touch it before it appears.

Lots of features in the app and hoping there will be more documentation on it.

It's an Awesome photo-app that I would have been willing to pay for.

Hey that looks awesome, i was on the fence about which phone to get when i am able to get my new device. I think I just got sold on the Iphone, that app looks really cool and I could absolutely put it to some good use. Very awesome!

That looks excellent. I'll have to install it on my iPhone. I love the way it "awesome-izes" the cathedral shot. Plus the sharing feature is really handy.

Got it the first day it came out. Been playing with it daily, and spending $1 at a time getting the filters I want, just as I'm sure the smugmug braintrust intended. It really is a well put together app. Thanks Baldy!

I'm a pro photog and think this is a great looking app. Of course, I switched to Android about a year ago, so . . . damn.

I *love* Baldy, and all he has done for us, but I don't *like* this phone app. The "ZOOM" function is practically useless for me! I just tested it again for the 100th time. Two-thirds of the time the zoom function doesn't zoom at all. The rest of the time, because it is *right next to* the shutter button, the camera takes a picture for me when I don't want it to. And it doesn't seem to have the two-finger squeeze that the other camera apps(and most other apps) have for zoom in or out.

And no one answered my question about sending batches of photos to Smugmug, so I'm guessing it doesn't do that either. As far as i can tell...it's one at a time. Very slow.

I'm absolutely willing to be *corrected* about my impressions, but please keep them constructive, and point out where I have my facts wrong. Not just an unnecessary defense of all things *Baldy*. All I'm saying is the Camera+ app has been much more useful for me, for all the things it does well.

And I'm very willing to listen to reason.

I'm a new smugmug user and just found Camera Awesome through a Wall Street Journal writeup. I love it so far, and am looking forward to learning all the functionality. Smugmug has been a great tool to try and move my photo collection to another secure location.

We're working on an Android version but wow the programming is tough in that environment. I dunno if we can make it as fast and robust. Now I understand the scarcity of camera apps on Android. We made a mistake by saying we're working on an Android version because Apple is pissed at us now...
