So, unless I hear that others were planning on tagging along I'm taking the truck and trailer option. Leaving Thursday late afternoon and arriving Thursday night. Or so I think. Haven't firmed up the actual details yet.

Jeff, can you make it there by Thursday night? Don't wanna get all set up and have you roll in and say "wtf are you guys doing in this spot, we camp over there".
I've been tossing around the idea of leaving Thursday morning to ride there and secure the campspot.
The weather may help me decide. Or you, camping Thursday night ALSO, might help me decide

Ok sold!!!!! I'll check with Pigpen and see what the earliest we can leave is. I figure I can skip outta work by 3pm. If I get off my lazy arse Wed night and pack, we could be there before dark. That gives us one more night to make sure the bottoms of the bottles are round. You know they are very sneaky about squaring of liquor bottles. Best to check as many as possible as frequently as possible. You also know the only way to check is to drink it all and look inside. Sucks about Mark, we'll save him some of the really good riding for Saturday. Won't we?

Nice - Lookin like a good turn out! Can't wait! Still on the fence whether to ride or drive - will depend on the weather, but that camper is looking like a fine choice with the weather we have been having.

Mark - Make it happen!

Then, I'll ride there Thursday afternoon, and arrive sometime before dark, at the earliest.
And believe me, I know how to check bottles
I'll be bringing a great big plastic one (at least one ) with me.

You guys are as bad as I am about bumping up the departure time. I've done that so much over the years during hunting season so we can get a place to camp that I now am out a full week ahead of season
Unless something strange happens and my "busy" schedule is not interupted by something important, I can get out there, do a recce and secure the site early Thursday.

Yep. Aint that the truth.

I'll figure out exactly what I am doing over the next week and keep touching base.

There's been snow almost every morning all month here. Must. Camp. Now.

Look for the BIG firepit on the very end of Chimney Rock CG.
And have that fire goin' when I get there, will ya?

Which one of these Pickup Adventurers are we gonna get to bring the big propane community heater and warming hut this year, Jay?

I wish I could go but just can't but if someone wants to borrow the heater I'd be good with that also I have a dry pile of firewood that could be raided as well. Same wood as last year only stored under a tarp this time.

Hey, them things cook tortilla's also! Awesome.

I can bring an EZ-UP, but I'll be driving my own tiny "Warming Station". Cost of entry is a "Bottle Check".

Be sure you anchor it down when you set it up rather that wait until the wind picks up and you wish you would have, like I did last year

Delorme Gazetteer's

Well, I pulled the trigger on all of the states west of the Mississippi. Paper maps for all of them. I'll bring OR, NV, UT, CO, WY, ID, WA, MT to the outing. We can have a good look at where and how we are traversing the states to CO later this summer. Like to ride as much gravel as we can or time will allow. I think these will be very helpful for finding routes. I plan a lot of riding the next few years thru these states, so figured I'd pick them up. A lot of the fun for me is in the planning. Although I do like just going without a plan also. Yee Ha Since I have a new 3 wheeler coming that can carry an army, no worries about having room for this stuff.
