I hadn't heard this-- have only partially followed the issue until today.

Saints have been warned by the League multiple times over the past three years to stop.

I don't think they did enough. How about vacating all wins in which an opposing player was injured for the last five years, plus the Super Bowl, and the players who injured opposing players having to pay all medical costs incurred by the teams in treating/rehabbing the injured, plus have the Saints give up 20% of their gross receipts for the next five years, to be placed in escrow for a retired players' medical fund. On top of the suspensions.

I have never gotten too excited about the Av's they moved to Colorado after I left. I'm not a huge hockey fan, kind of like NBA-- just don't feel much allegiance. Have never been to a game. In the NBA I'll find a player or two I like and root for them.

Maybe that's how I'll do it for Hockey.

I do like the BlackHawks uniform the best.

plus they are original Six.

I do wish I lived someplace with both a decent College team and NHL or at least AHL. We had a third tier league here for a bit, but the Arena is in a sucky location and other than Baseball ABQ sucks at supporting minor league sports.

Seriously, I don't get the fervor over UofM around here. We call the fans Walmart Wolverines. The vast majority are die-hard fuckers but would never stand a chance of actually attending the school.

I'm a big fan of the St. Louis Blues, now that they brought in Ken Hitchcock. David Backes is a great power forward and they have stellar goaltending. Not as flashy as Kane or Toews on the Blackhawks, but Toews was one of those Canadians that come down and play for fucking North Dakota so I still hate him.

I had a roommate that went to La die dah Ohio State, and had grown up in Ann Arbor-- at the same time had three friends who were all buds from Michigan State. (We were all working at a ski area)

From this experience my take away was "Go STATE!!!"

Senator calls hearing to examine bounties in NFL

I recall there being talk of criminal penalties being pursued for excessive violence in other sports, hockey hits ala Marty McSorley on Brashear, but I don't recall a douche Senator wanting to get involved. Maybe I'm wrong.

I still think the NFL is handling it just fine on their own.
