While Coach Coughlin does not enjoy the media pandering that coach Belichek does, they are both of the same system or coaching tree. Bill Parcells was a master at eyeing talent, grooming it and then setting it free. If you count super bowl rings in the modern era...his coaches have to be the most prolific winners. I know coach Walsh is close on that one too, but without looking Parcells has had a superior impact. Especially once all the teams figured out how to defend that WC offense more consistently. So, when you get two Parcells coaches going head to head in a SuperBowl, I think it is a 50/50 shot. The good news for coach C, when in a big game, Eli is not Eli. He really does step it up when it counts. The Giants you just cannot be sure what you are going to get from week to week. If the defense shows up it is over....but they don't always come to play. Some Prima Donna's on defense who sit for a hangnail. Certainly not the Carl Banks led defense...nor Antonio Pierce led defense either.
The Pat's have been building all year in typical Belicheck fashion. That defense was scary for the first 5 or 6 games, especially deep. Now, they are playing pretty darn well. If they do both end up in the Super Bowl...it goes to the Pat's this time. Why, they have a running game again. Keeps everyone honest on their coverages. Something they have not had in the manner they do now since Corey Dillon got old legs. What a stud he was! I do not think my Giants have what they need to go all the way this year. Running game....well, it may improve with Wilson, but he is still young for the post season play ferocity. The defense will lay an egg at least one game along the way here and they need every one from here on out. The better defenses have been locking up the WR's, especially Cruz this year. From NFC teams as of late, I think the Seahawks look like they have the most intensity heading into the playoffs. Falcons, Bears, 9'ers, Packers....some hurt, some seem to have lost the compass.

I don't like that PM continues to throw stupid INT's. The O-line is a serious weak link when, if one guy goes down (Kuper), the QB's scrambling for his life. Their propensity for giving up the big play. Granted, they haven't let another team convert a 4th and 29 but they seem to let off the gas when ahead by double digits. Without McGahee the running game just ain't the same. I'm hoping they'll use Hester as a surprise stud this weekend. Can they beat NE? NFW unless perhaps they get 'em in Denver and I don't see that happening. Can they beat Houston? Maybe. Schaub doesn't impress when on the big stage. About the only thing that will be fun to watch is if the stars align and the Colts have to come to Denver. Boy, talk about hype!

Headed out to see Jerry World this weekend. Girlfriend is a huge Steelers fan and I picked us up some tickets to the Steelers and Cowboys game. Anyone here know of any great BBQ places around there. We are going to drive down to Austin as well to see one of our friends.
Supposedly Franklins BBQ in Austin won best BBQ in the country and we plan on trying to go there, however waiting in line for 2 hours to eat BBQ does not sound like a great way to spend the afternoon. If we can get in we will try it. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/19/us...oski.html?_r=0 Any other places that are not to miss for great BBQ in the area?
