N Central MN spring adventure ride
What
An awesome spring adventure ride with us through one of Minnesota's best State Forests. When May 17, 18 2013 Where We live 5 miles south of Akeley, Mn. (I will send a personnal message to everyone who would like to ride with us with the address). We are 10 minutes from Paul Bunyan State Forest. PBSF has single track, moderate trails and forest roads. We are also not to far from Foothills and Huntersville. We have a couple of spare beds, lots of floor space and mats, & many acres for tents, campers, 5th wheels etc. The Agenda We will plan for a long ride on Saturday and a shorter ride on Friday. Would anyone like to ride Thursday? We hope all sorts of people will join us for a ride. Some people may want to ride fast on single track, or stick with forest roads. We have some good route ideas but anything could change and all ideas are welcome. The routes, speeds, decision to ride is a suggestion from us to you - not a requirement. Ride at your own risk. To ride the trails you need a DNR OHM sticker but do not need one for the forest roads. This is a list of people who are planning to ride with us: biker4ever bikergirl4ever toadl Ride-til-sore offroad Bemidji tbickner Jon B ssg B - maybe older-not-wiser toddelof - maybe jwalters c-zulu tonykof ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm in. I want to camp out at your place, unless Toddelof brings his Fifth-wheeler. I'd also like to help out with a meal. Keep in mind I haven't talked to my wife about this yet.

My daughter and I would be up for riding on Saturday, probably. We are also members of the Paul Bunyan Forest Riders, I will probably have the trails all downloaded to my GPS by then too. So, if we are there, we would also be willing to lead a couple of all single track rides. 1 morning loop, back for lunch and an afternoon loop.
There will probably be work crews up there preparing for the Akeley west enduro. If they are, they would be working on the west side of 64. For those not aware, there are places at the trailhead and out at the gravel pit that are both suitable for camping. There is also 'fee camping' at The Stompin Grounds and there is a city campground on the lake near 64. You cannot ride the trails on a non-plated dirtbike (any dirtbike, actually) from the campgroud to the forest trails, though. Have to have a plate and take the road.

Was this the ride from last year with lots of sleeping bikes on the trails?? ![]() I saw the pics and heard the stories... Will extra clutch and brake levers be available at the event (for KLRS) ?

Small vice grips work very well to replace broken levers. If you are doing single track, bark busters are recommended.

I will plan on being there, course I haven't talked to my wife either. Funny how partnerships can influence decisions. I will also plan on camping at your place.

Just bring your wives with you. I can direct them to good shopping so they can be spending lots of money while all of you are riding. haha

Yes!! Son 2 (perhaps) and I are in. I have a pickup camper for overnight stay, even.
Hmmm... Gonna need a trailer for the bike(s), I guess. Is this the Martineau trail system? There's something over 100 miles of ridin' to be had there. Jon
