Pilot Road 2/3 on a GS/GSA?

Well I have been using Tourance EXP's on my 2008 GSA for the past 24k miles. I seem to get ~ 12k miles on the rear before I have a flat spot that makes the tire need replaced. Also I am talking about my rear tire, my front still runs great.

I wanted to see if anyone has been using the Pilot Road 2's on a GS/GSA (those flat landers that get flat spots), and see what sort of mileage you are getting out of them? Are you happy with them? I see they now have a Road 3 that should be even better in water.

I tried to use the search function and it wasn't working, sorry if there is a thread on this.

Prost!

I have been using Pilot road 1 on front (no 19" size in road 2) and road 2 on rear. Love the combo and got better mileage on them than on duel sport tires. Road 3s are supposed to be made in sizes for GS so I will switch to them when time comes.

What sort of mileage do you get out of your Pilot Road 2's in the rear?

Interesting, I have used Pilot Road 2's on my K1200, didn't think they would fit my GSA.

I'd like to give the Road 2 a try. I used Road 1s on my 1150, and thought it was the best tire I had ever had on that bike. Made the bike feel like it lost 100lbs, and tons of traction on pavement in all conditions.

Have heard that the new PR 3's are out and available, and that they have sizes which fit the GS. In the past I really liked the PR 2's on my old R12S.

If, the new PR 3's are anything like the old PR 2's, they will offer a great alternative to the Conti's Road Attack/RA 2's (BTW, I've used the Conti RA's on my GS and loved em, based on their grip, feel, feedback, compared to the wooden feeling, but none the less great do-it-all Tourance's). For me, I use my GS 99.9% on the street and because of that will go back to either the Conti RA 2's or these new PR 3's (based on ride reports/comparo's).

Question PR3 availability

Hi all,
I've been checking online and no one seems to have the Pilot Road 3s in GS sizes in stock. Any thoughts? Thanks.

A fellow GS rider/friend just put a Pilot Road 3 on his rear and got it from Cyclegear (he still has the Conti RA on the front). Anyway, the PR3's and also the Conti RA3's are available, but ya just have to shop around a bit to get em.

Thanks Mike. I was able to order a rear from Competition Accessories but they're back ordered on the 19" front tires. And CycleGear doesn't list the 19" front on their site. Any other leads, anyone?

Scarce as hen's teeth...

I had to go to 2 separate sources to get the Pilot Road 3s.

SWMotoTires = available today 5/18 (both front and rear)
Motorcycle Superstore = available today 5/18 (both front and rear)

Headed across Canada on the Trans Canada Highway starting on Saturday.
Will give you a ride report on the tires when I return!

I've been very happy with Pilot Roads (IIs) on my GS. In gravel, they're slippery like you would expect, but they're just outstanding on pavement, and quite decent on hard-packed dirt. I really like the profiles, let me get good lean angles in turns without much shoving. They seem to last long enough, too.

42 psi rear, 40 psi front.

I just checked the superstore and they say the front is back ordered, at least that's what they say online. I've emailed SWMototires but haven't heard back from them yet.

front tires back ordered

Hi all,
I just got an email from SWMotoTires and they too are back ordered. I spoke with a person at Motorcycle Superstore and they're in the same boat but will email me when they become available. Dang, these front tires are hard to locate!
