Trip report

It was a great weekday trip, with some good guys. If you like a great example of natural FL sandhill community, the CMA is great. They keep it pretty well burned off and there are tons of longleaf pines everywhere. the sugar sand was more than I expected , but FAR from the worse I'd seen and very manageable even for a beginner I would say. The Holder mine campground is tops on my list with power and water and lots of shade! also centrally located to most stuff ( the liquor store!) Hope to do it again soon, hey Paint Shaker, would even enjoy doing some cool twisty pavement rides if you want, as theres plenty of it in Citrus county.

Those caves look interesting! Did you have any time for spelunking?

Yesterday after leaving you guys, I went back down to Lake Lindsay Mall and got with Ed and looked at that motorcycle he was trying to sell us. I went back today to pick it up and he could not get it running. He had worked on it 7 or 8 months ago and left it full of gas. We took the carb apart and got stuff out of it including some rust. I came home with my money still in my pocket. Not a bad looking bike.

spellunking

I did no spelunking this day, but back in high school, I went through them thoroughly. Its a great little cave system, but not for the faint of heart. there are a lot of tight squeezes and sections that test your skills.

See my cousin Ed was working the counter while y'all were there

That's his Dodge

The previouse owners always kept a pic of my Uncle Luther Jones there in the front window

He spent many an hour sittin' in front of that ol' store

For street riding off pavement

Don't forget about Chaz

http://myfwc.com/media/304851/Chass_Driving_Tour.pdf

The roads are improved for street

We've done 'em at 70 mph

There is this one corner that's a mofo if you're not watching for it

over a hill and then a hard 90
