All my twins run smooth as crap here is the order.
Valves -> throttle cables -> Sync Throttle bodies -> in the 990 case after sync make the tps back in spec. Then I typically let it cool down all the way a few times to make sure its spot on. Then i reload the map do a 15 min idle and its pretty smooth. The ideal condition would be have the bike EXACTLY the same specs as the bike they made the map on at the factory. But we all know the factory maps are pretty much garbage. Also make sure your map sensor holes are not blocked by maybe getting bad gas. That will make your gas mileage go in the shitter.

Since you re-loaded the Akra map (to turn the O2 sensors on) you need to do the 15 minute idle dance.

50 mi test ride complete, bike runs pretty well, still some "searching" in the 4500-5500 RPM range.
Mileage is up to 30 MPG (from 23), which was a little bit of urban hooliganism and 40 miles slab at 70-80, same route I did on last test. Still not wonderful, but I'll take it for now. Looks like something did something in the right direction... I still suspect problems, probably mapping. Time to pack!

Alright! Little bit more work and you're good to go.
The MAP holes are the ones that come off of front-right and rear-left cylinders and go up to those funny looking black things. Basically, opposite of the S-hose we run.

I pulled them out and cleaned them out really good and cleaned the throttle bodies. Then put teflon around the threads and put them back in.

Diek is on his way for 2 weeks that starts and ends at Big Bend. Just received a text from Viola-tor at a fuel stop in Del Rio, 27.7 mpg. His range is about 200 miles (2.1 gal Neduro tank at the rear). I think he also has a fuel bladder he can fill if there is a leg of more than 200 miles.

I sent him a text with the suggestion that it was something he could easily check and clean in camp.

I got 28 with the factory Akro map and dual Q4s. Wouldn't surprise me if it's about as good as it gona get with the 2-1 he's running.
Now the fun begins... Steve

If I nurse the bike, I get up to 42. So something is off. The map sensors are easy to clean but with the stock air box, not fun to access unless he doesn't mind taking the tanks off again
