Hrmm, so much for Klim/Polaris keeping a moto line going :(

Edit: My bust, I didn't think Polaris owned any motocycles. They are the parent company of Victory. I am now sure that KLIM will live on based on the ilk of Victory owners!

Sorry, didn't mean to half ask and run, I will answer your better question later when I get to my computer versus my phone.

Polaris also owns the latest incarnation of Indian motorcycles.

Looks like I got a bit of work to do before Saturday...cleaning the KLX up and getting ready for the swap I found a small problem...

The exhaust pipe had melted a hole in the air box...
So just like all those drama filled "build it before the end of the episode" tv shows....I'm up against the clock.

All stripped down...hopefully, it goes back in...getting it out was a pain

Looks like it got a bit warm

Got things cleaned up...just need to patch things up...

I'm thinking a bit of metal and some aluminum tape...

Emailed the guy and told him I would be getting a replacement airbox for it....but like me he already has rides planned for his "new" wheels...so it needs to be rideable

Is that due to the aftermarket exhaust?

They were touching when I found it...not sure when it happened

either way...when I'm done drinking this can of soda (belch) I'll have the metal I need for the repair

That aluminum tape is pretty handy. I had some extra after installing a fireplace insert. I ending up buying another rolll. I use it more than duct tape. though it is not as strong. you can put ~20awg wire between layers to add some tear strength over a big hole like that where something could pull / poke. nice job.
