So I go to put gas in the new tank today.....and the petcock leaks....a lot...

Both gaskets looked pretty good, guessing the plastic tank might not be as flat across as it looks.

So I cut a new (additional) gasket...hopefully that will work.

can anyone recommend a RTV type gasket paste that works well with fuel in case this doesn't work?

OH GOD NO... Guard rails will jump up and smack you. DAMIK.

Nice looking new machine Marty. Silver looks good on a GS It's not black, but you can't have everything.

Blaster... Sorry dude. Crappy news. But you are better off fusing sooner than later... I lost almost a whole decade (of misery) hoping that my ankle would stop swelling and being so painful. After the fusion, I got my life back!

Honestly it's a bit of a mystery.

Last year I had a similar injury where I was in brazillian jiu-jitsu (basically wrestling for those who don't know) and I pushed off my foot and it swelled up and I couldn't put any weight on it, but I'd not say that the pushing off was something I'd think would cause an injury it's something I do 100's of times a night. MRI was done last time and showed a partially torn ATL (anterior talofibular ligament.) basically a normal ankle sprain. I wasn't really happy with the diagnosis because I always felt that something underlying was there to make it happen at such a low force level, but it got better and I sorta just stopped worrying about it.

This time I banged my heel into the mat doing BJJ once again not very hard and the ankle swelled up a little bit so I quit training. Was walking around with a bit of a limp. Saw the doc again x-rays where neg and got a script for PT.

Then yesterday I was setting on the couch indian style and went to get up and my ankle could take 0 weight. So went back to the dock they stuck me in the splint because I couldn't get my foot to dorsiflex enough to get it into an air cast and then sent me for an MRI...

The doc is currently speculating that it could be a broken talus.

What's with all these injuries.

You'd think we were all a bunch of old farts acting like teenagers.

If that's the case, make sure you get the number to Bruce's Doc.

I'm only 28 which makes this even more depressing :)

Sucks ass going from being active 5-6 days a week. To sitting on a couch popping Vicodin.

J4S, can you post the super sneeky way you were skirting traffic to Union Memorial. I thought I didn't need it anymore, but apparently not the case...

My weekly EB report:

(brought to you by T.M. Designworks, makers of over-priced sprocket-case savers that don't eject as much dirt as you thought before you pissed away the $55).

Muddy. There were puddles of standing water in places I have never seen puddles out there, though, surprisingly, not as slick as it has been at other times...but enough water all over the place that I didn't ride very long out of respect for the track.

I thought a couple of solid days with no rain would leave the track dry, but wrong again. And with forecasted snow next week, it might not be dry enough for me to venture down the long loop any time soon.
