Got the Karoo 3's on, if nothing else they at least look bad ass. If you have a 4x4 with mud tires you know the noise. Really Not bad up to 65mph then doubles and triples at 80. Thats as fast as I went. Ride is good, only when coming to a stop or slowing to stop does it begin to feel like knobbies. No difference in cornering or riding that I noticed. Seem stable with good grip (dry). Although I didn't get to aggressive because they were new. Mortons said you don't have to worry about the new slickness because HARDLY no manufacturers use that mold release anymore. Didn't chance it. Anyone else heard of that? Over all I like them. 211 rear 170 front 100 mount balance. If the rear last over 8-9k I'll be happy, which looked about what the torrence exp rear was looking to hold out to. I think I am the second person in the area to get a full set.

Karoo indicates a 30% increased life. It's hard to tell if they are claiming improvement from Karoo T or Karoo 2. Ancedotal info seems the Karoo 2s were getting 3500ish miles before end of life on a big bike.

So, I will start the odds at 2:1. 4700 miles before end of life for the rear tire. Will be interesting to see the real life mileage though!

Peg extensions installed on the Husky...pictures tomorrow. Should make standing a breeze as big as they are.

I also got my Wolfman Enduro carry all bag in for the DRZ which mounts over the headlight....better than expected! Pictures tomorrow as well.

Breakfast RTE tomorrow

I have no idea if anyone is interested but I am doing a morning ride/RTE tomorrow. Details to follow but post up if your interested. This will probably be a bit earlier than normal since I have been enjoying the morning rides to work recently...a lot!

I would like to be out of the house by 0630 while the air is still crisp. Heading down to the Solomons island area to a small diner we frequent. We will be taking as many back roads as possible along the way.

Roger

I am starting to think that the Kreiga bags may be the way to go on the Husky, may have to check those out when the time comes.

I used a us-10 on the back of my Husky smoker last week when we went down to the Hatfield-Mccoy trails. Other than trying to get my damn leg over the thing, it did fine. Nothing got wet that was inside (It rained quite a bit before and during our trip) and it stayed on the bike just fine with just some occasional cinching down of the straps as stuff settled in place.

I used it to carry some extra fuel (in the mesh pocket), a tool roll, and some other misc stuff (sammich, extra water, rag, etc) that I didn't want on my back (more Kriega gear, hydro-3 + us-5)

I made up my own loops to attach it to this bike. I have the subframe loops on my DRZ and use the scrap tails to make the loops for this bike.

Good info and thanks for the insight....I like the loops!

Would that be a gear driven cam VFR in the background?
