Welcome! While many B'more peeps have told me riding in the city is the adventure...here are the options:

1) Country roads (think drive your Prius on them)...but there are atleast 2 open water XCings (Middleburg, VA) 1 hr from Bmore
2) Taskers Gap (Public Winchester day fee use area) 1.5 hrs from Bmore
3) Eagle Bay 15 miles of single track in Dahlgren, VA (Private Annual fee required) 1.5 hrs from Bmore
4) Wicomico ATV park (Private, day fee required) MX track and single track trails 1.5hrs from Brmore
5) Michaux State Forest (PA) 1.5 hrs from Bmore
6) George Washington National Forerest 3+ hrs from Bmore

You might also check in with the rest of the Bmore peeps Land of Pleasant Living

So, we all remember while Dorito lay mortally wounded from her little brake episode this spring?

J4S thought that I should just kick her to the curb on a new, shiny model as we tried to source parts at Bobs BMW. Well, no less, another brake incident, but this time on the little yellow bike.

So, I've decided to take J4S advice. Found me another yellow one!

I think I will call her "Cool Ranch (Dorito)"

Cool Ranch! CR? In the medical field those initials tend to stand for "Controlled Release".

Thanks for the info. I'd found a few of those but not others.

Believe me, there is nothing...I mean nothing I do on a bike that is ever considered "controlled" by an outside observer.

Now to figure out how much stuff crosses over between the two bikes. I hope the answer is more than 0!

Nope, that's the beauty of her. She's got 3 inches more travel than the standard G650, and I can ride the reg height supsension/reg height seat. She's also trimmed 70 lbs off her chubby frame from a standard G650GS (352.7 pounds vs 423 lbs wet weight).

With a piddely 2.5 gallon tank, I don't think she'll ever earn her "A" wings. But the "X" is worth 8 times what a piddely "A" is worth.

I should know better than to ask but is this an addition to the stable or a replacement for the 200?
