apparently the summit was worth 8600 points of the recommended 11000 minimum needed on this leg to stay in the running to be considered a finisher

Since we convened and departed before the high mercury of the day, we'll call this ADV church.

Blaster was the master of ceremonies, having two little bikes in need of minor repair. We warmed up with some cone slaloms, followed by one peg mounting. It's funny how you really get an exercise, then reverse it to the non-dominate side and struggle all again!

Then we were off.

Ride the Roundabout
EOD3MC shows up how to properly ride the 15M circle, even with the cone in the divot. Notice his exit though

Triple Bar

Dirt Bump
I am still not Evil Kniveval, but I am doing enough little fly jumps to see when then feel good. Still need to get the nose up more, but much softer when I get a nice horizontal/rear first landing

Next time we meet we need to add the exercise where we ride parrellel to the railroad ties, and practice dabbing to the tie without upsetting the balance of the bike. Also need to get some more ties for a shorter grinding practice area.

Also, I am still not doing a Wattsy wheelie (nor any wheelie for that matter). I don't know how I can ride so much with EOD3MC and not be learning them through osmosis!

This clip is interesting. There is ton of footage before I got a continuous clip. We made toothpicks of riding the rail today. Bikes on all sides but the top in fact.

It's funny how the rider in front of you influences destiny. It's not they are riding your bike for you, nor helping you at all. However, if one rider did it...usually the next was successful And look--all 4 though without failing over!

Ride your ride

"Church" was a little bit of everything this morning... slow speed drills, rails, circles, log crossings, jumps, and log piles.
All in all a good skill/confidence building morning...
We played a bit on the small dirt pile...working on pre-loading the suspension, body position, and throttle control.

Dorito

Gastone

And me...

We played on the logs..single and double crossings. Working on body position, set-up, throttle and momentum
It seems we always got a bit more vertical off the second log.

Gastone

Me

And then we stepped it up to the woodpile or "triple bar"
This drill was mostly about commitment. It's not much different then the single logs, there is just more opportunity for things to go south.
No nose dives, falls or backflips...though Dana did have Bruce questioning how fast he could move once

Dorito

Gastone

and me again...

It may not seem all that adventurous riding around in the back yard, but it sure helps work on the skills you need on the trails. Certainly helps build confidence in yourself and you bike.

Funny, you should mention it. Although this is from last week, I think the funniest part is once you collect yourself you scan the area to see who else is watching (except for the camera never blinks)

Stealing photos from the gopro video doesn't always get you the greatest picture, but I thought this stream showed how much is happening when going over the woodpile.
Certainly works the suspension...

Since I picked on EOD3MCs blooper, here's mine. During church, I thanked the lord I was not male at this precise moment

Ouch...

Well, I fixed the loose sprocket nut that Blaster noticed when we loaded the bike in the truck. I even changed the shaft seal and cleaned the chain while I had it all a part...
Thought I was done then i noticed this:

Guess i'll be fixing a flat tonight too.

So what were you thinking as far as roads....just dunkle or more? If I were to go I would want to be out of here early....oh and there is a 40% or so chance of rain as well.

Yep, we all saw that and I hope he is doing alright!!!! As you always say it was going well until it wasn't.....that's the reason we always stop now when someone says "one more time" because it's going to hurt.

That sucks, It looked a bit low when it was in the back of the truck but I thought maybe it was due to strapping it down.

I wouldn't mind giving Slate/Stonecamp/Union Springs a go. Long Run, Rough Run. Early works for me.
