Memories....not pleasant ones!

Here is a post from XC riders report from out West. Seems they found some of that sticky mud, like we found on the CDR last year, that clogs the tires and makes it damn near impossible to ride! Unfortunately one of the guys in the midst of the sticky mud went down and pulled a hamstring. For those that have never pulled one try to never do it because it takes quite a bit of rehab, is painful as a MOFO, and never seems to be quite right. I didn't even want to sit in a car for a long time. I hope they get it worked out.

Hello/Good Bye Party

If you wondered what Alaska might look like in a kaleidoscope kinda of way..this sums it up

Maybe you wonder what Alaska might look like from clean shaven to facial whiskers

The GSA perched on her center stand, not even trail de-gunked and horrifying the Goldwing clientele

But Ms Motoman will have none of another secret Mistress. She too is looking for an upgrade

Road Kitsch

And we all remember MotoMan loosing his spot? It sat here on velcro until the day it didn't....

Now it's here, firmly in a cradle.

Wowers, look at the spread at this place!

It lives again...
After a full tear down for maintenance and radiator repair it appears that I've got the mighty KLR back up and operational.
Every bolt lock-tighted and torqued to spec.
All bearings and bushings inspected, cleaned and greased.
Wiring harness inspected with any wear areas reinforced
Water pump seals replaced
Valve clearances checked and adjusted
radiator replaced
Cooling system flushed
Oil and filter changed
Air filter changed
Carb cleaned
Front tube replaced
Chain removed, cleaned and oiled

Not bad for a bike with over 50,000 miles on it...

only two things left to do..
Install the bash plate and ride it

Actually I think that Triumph is a pretty good looking bike....it just needs some TKC's on it.

She's a persnickety little girl!

I've often wondered what it meant when someone said it was a "girl" bike. Now I know. A girl bike is not measured in CCs, or in stature, or any other quantifiable metric, but rather "persnicketies".

Quote:
fussy about small details; b : having the characteristics of a snob
2 requiring great precision
Despite the fact that I have gone to the DMV to register her twice due to paperwork issues on sellers end (+2 persnickety points), and then yesterday she was dead a door nail. (Laying down on me after 1 ride total +5 persnickety points). I figured the battery was dead from her previous luxurious gig and it was probably the original. I order a new one (+1 persnickety point). Went out to disassemble the bike and ready for the new battery and find a blown fuse (a BMW actually having a fuse +7 persnickety points).

But, started practicing some cones and such and she makes me smile. (-100 persnickety points)

I guess girl bikes are worth it after all.

Not likely as I still have to figure out why the KTM seems to be overheating.

On the plus side, the KLR passed it's road test this morning. Though it was puking fuel out the carb overflow when I stopped in Dahlgren, it didn't when I got back home or after the second short ride this afternoon. Guessing something stuck

Looks like I might just get to sell the second radiator...first one is holding fine with no leaks
