Rides will be dual sport, and mostly big bike friendly.

Any interest?
I would be interested!

Eale Bay ride

So several of us got together today and went down to Eagle Bay for a little fun in the woods. We did their Blind endruro this spring and got hooked so we paid the membership dues now its time to ride. They have three loops, a 2 mile, a 6.7 mile, and 12 miler, with the 2 miler being the easiest of the three. Its all single track with a few bridges, water holes, and lots of roots but no rocks to speak of. So here are today's pictures....
Dave (EOD3MC) and the kids getting ready to unload.

Dana (Dorito) getting ready to unload the TTR, look Dana and Erik have the same shoes.

Erik (Joints4sale) with his KTM 625SXC and his sons DR350. I took the DR for a little spin and it was a pretty good ride through the woods...plenty of power.

Dave having a little breakfast.

Must be funny face day...

Dana trying to get the little monster past all the roots, ruts, and other loose stuff on the hill....After today I don't think getting up this hill will be a problem for her anymore.

Dave and the kids after the first lap.

So I try to coax her into going around the mud hole but no way was that going to happen....just dive in!!

One happy little rider!!

You wouldn't realize it by the innocent looks but put some armor on with a helmet and a Mohawk and stand back because they are coming through!

Thanks for coming out today guys Dana and I had a great time!!

Had she had a different mentor whom would have told her just to "pin it", I think she may have made it through!

AirHawk and Gas

Dave, this is aimed mainly at you but can apply to all. I recently purchased an AirHawk from a fellow inmate for the KTM and it's a huge improvement for the gel seat! I believe you're planning on riding out for the CDR and if you want a little extra comfort this would be a great option.

I'm also experimenting with lower octane fuel. I've read a couple of posts about activating the ignition curve for lower octane fuel so I thought I'd give it a go. So far so good. I disconnected the plug under the seat and the FI warning light came on, which I was told to expect. I've noticed a little drop off in power but not much. At the next fill up I'll be able to talk about fuel economy. This also might be helpful on the CDR. Who knows what kind of gas you'll see out there. The one thing I won't be able to test is how the bike preforms at altitude.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the air hawk info...So far with the long distance runs I've made, I haven't had any "seat comfort" issues

I have a handlebar switch to swap the fuel maps...right now (for mostly pavement and not behaving too much ) I get about 40-41 mpg.
When playing in West Virginia, I get about 33....but the rear tire does spin much more then the front

Next couple tanks, I'll try the low octane as well to see what I get...

27 May Hare Scramble

Quote:
Yes, It’s the same famous Antietam Motocross Track from the 1960’s – 70’s – 80’s & 90’s. Ride the same track your father and grandfather rode, and see how you do. Yes, the big rock is still there. The state of Maryland is trying a pilot plan to help Maryland Comp Riders reopen this riding area after a 10 year closure. The hare scramble event being held on May 27 is a test to see if there is need for an off road riding area within 60 miles of Baltimore’s 695 beltway. Support this event as a rider or spectator. Just by showing up we can show the state of Maryland the numbers are here to justify reopening Antietam as a dirt bike practice facility. Please email Washington County’s Senator and DNR listed below. Tell them: We need Antietam reopened now!

Christopher B. Shank, Republican, District 2, Washington County
Christopher.shank@senate.state.md.us

Paul A. Peditto, Director Maryland, DNR
PPEDITTO@dnr.state.md.us
Flyer on Race here: http://mdcompriders.org/

I don't think I will go, as it has 1 mile of MX course and 4 miles of woods (but I did sent a note to Paul and Chris).
