So I stopped on the way home to pick up a trash can to make the fairing for the DRZ....Figured today would be a good day to do that since I took the pickup to work...sorry Bruce, no photo of stuff strapped on the bike.

Sketched out the measurements from the video and post and got started...

Red lines for measurements, black lines for the folds

So I started gently folding in the center fold...slowly working from the top down to the 6" mark above the bottom edge...

Folding portion lasted all of about 30 seconds....

Snapped right down the middle...didn't think I folded it toooo tight....

maybe I got the wrong trash can....

maybe it was too cold....

next time I guess I should soften it with the heat gun...

or maybe I should just send the dude $30 before I go through a couple more trash cans

That sucks! I was planning on using the heat gun because I have shitty luck with plastic, apparently you do to. Can you get another one out of the trash can?

So I had Dana look at my foot last night and apparently the office chick who was responsible for removing the stitches.....well missed a few. Is it really asking for too much to remove ALL the stitches? Anyway Dana had fun pulling on them and cutting them out.

Dave....can you shoot rifle at that range in Fred?

2014 SoMD Calendar Updates

Alrighty...still looking for straggler pics for the 2014 calendar. Also, trying to figure out how many folks might be interested in one? They will probably be between $7-10.

Karen and I figured it would be a nice day to go out to Old House Vineyards in Culpepper to pick up her wine of the month club fix...it looked like it would also be a great day to take the back roads to get there.

We started off by taking 218 from Dahlgren to Fredricksburg...well we didn't get too far going that way.
Caledon was hosting a local wine and art festival. So we stopped there to par take in the wine tasting...
Parking for it was fun...right between the Harleys and the Goldwings

I'm pretty picky with what wines I like (the closer to Welches grape juice the better ) but one winery I really like was there.

Mattaponi Winery...they make quite a few fruit wines that are really good

Then we headed off to Old House...after getting through the Central Park area we stayed to the north side of 3...even found a gravel road...

Came up on three horseback riders and thanks to Dana's previous instructions I received thank yous from the riders after we waited for them to tell us when it was good to pass and then we just creeped by...

Arriving at Old House Vineyards, I again parked with the Harleys...the group riding them were quite nice and had all kinds of questions about the KTM...one of which was "what the hell do you do with a 1,000 cc dirt bike?", before I could select which witty answer I was going to use, Karen replied with...He rides it...just about every day and everywhere....
(there are days I really like her)

Old House was offering soups as well as wine today it was either Sweet Potato or Wild Mushroom..we both chose the Wild Mushroom to go with our wine

We brought Karen's camera so we got a few more pictures...she tried the shooting while riding approach

All in all a pretty nice day for riding in November...I think it was about 130 miles and 3 glasses of wine.
But I now know a perfect Christmas gift for Karen.
One of those airhawk seat pads

Good evening everyone. I am new to the Maryland ADV scene and just wanted to see if there are any rides that I "HAVE" to do before I leave in mid December. I'm living in Baltimore at the moment but I'm (most recently) from California and did a lot of riding out there between SF and SD. I'm on a 2012 Tiger XC and want to put some miles on it on my days off. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Welcome aboard...

What kind of riding are you thinking of? paved back roads, gravel, forest roads...forest obstacle courses

As a group in general we have run just about everything...

Next weekend is a trail ride event near Dahlgren Virginia, but that is pretty much a small bike, single track event.

Dorito has a few GPS tracks she can likely send your way depending on what your looking to ride...
