It was on a ride like yesterday that I can unequivocally state that I made the right choice with the berg. Those were the first serious jumps I've ever attempted and the berg was crazy forgiving of my throttle inputs.

Edit: fwiw, those klr guys rode the piss out of those heavy bikes.

Awesome...he was riding well and it handled the trails nicely...center stand needs to go if he is going to take trails like these with the jumps though

So here are a couple of the shots I've pulled from the GoPro video I got...

First off, there shouldn't be any complaints from the small bikes, especially after we passed this trio on the trails
(no they are not lowered bikes, yes, I did show off a bit )

The other DRZ was getting some pretty good air...

I got a good bit of air with the my DRZ as well, Here are a couple shots of "hang-time"

This was going over the one waterhole on the back side of a jump...we had enough fun crossing it the first time that the whole group went back and did it again...

Garret jumped his KLR in an attempt to clear it...though he got good air, not enough distance to clear...not sure if his splash got Brian

Brian on the other hand cleared it....I was shot by just a few inches

There was also the hardest rock garden I've ridden yet...no steps or drops, just big loose rocks and lots of crevases
(this was just the entry point...I really should stop and take more still photos)

So the verdict is sounds like it's worth going back to South Pedlar? BTW, found the trail mileage chart:

Quote:
South Pedlar (around the boundary ) - 11 miles
Terrapin - 0.6 mile
Rattlesnake - 0.6 mile
Piney - 0.9 mile
Otter - 1.1 miles
Lone Mtn - 2.0 miles
Lasso - 2.8 miles

Did you guys kill Matt, I figured he would be chatting as well? I think Dana and I stayed at that KOA once, it was decent.

So VAcommuter, how was the ride in the sand? Were the cranberries bogs in harvest?
