I noticed Gail hasn't had his SPOT on in a few days. I wonder how the trip is really going for him, you know is it what he expected.

This isn't complex enough yet.

LoPL team vs SMAR team, total mileage for the year.

EOD3MC is starting to sweat his competition...

The Baltimoreans' from Land of Pleasant Living (LoPL) might give him a run for this!!

I'm game....is there a prize or just for yuks?

We could put together a spreadsheet on Google where everyone playing could enter their information and keep the running totals, that would make administration a lot easier.

Something a bit more trendy than our normal haunts of sushi or BBQ; last year we met at Melting Pot in Fredericksburg. Thinking we could find something that can handle a crowd of 10-14, uses silverware, invite the spouses/non-riding sig others and enjoy the evening.

Another option, is maybe someone just increased their homeowners policy limits and wants to host a pot-luck at their house?

I was thinking a Sat evening Dec 7 1800

I've asked him a similar question about a month back.

Quote:
So what's it feel like after being on the road for close to 6 months. Any particular part of travelling wearing on you? Feel like at some point you may even need a break from the travel?
He wrote me a long answer, and I would like to throw in some direct quotes from him, but I can't seem to find the response in my e-mail inbox. I would say that a trip of this magnitude definitely isn't for everyone. My impression is that Gail is really enjoying the adventure but he has always been the type of person that loves poking around in places that normal people don't go and he has always enjoyed meeting random people. The one story he posted about giving the woman a ride on the back of his bike, and then spending an afternoon helping her fix her house is a prime example. He has also been making a list for a really long time of places he has wanted to visit on his motorcycle, and this is his extreme bucket list trip.

Personally, I think I would enjoy such a trip, but every now and then, I would have to go in a big city and spend some time in a really nice hotel. Kind of like a vacation from the vacation.

His current plan is to stay in South America until after the Dakar Rally ends in early 2015, and then have his bike flown to South Africa.

I really liked the photo of his bike parked on a ferry in front of a pile of bananas.

I went over to the gym for their morning wake up group workout for the first time.....damn my legs are sore! Apparently that not working them out much for a few months takes a toll. I couldn't do everything as my legs/foot just aren't ready for the abuse yet. Warrior dash here I come!!!
