Found this track..what are your thoughts? Not sure it's big bike endorsed, but looks like some on big bikes are smiling for some pics...and some pics of crusiers?

I don't know about that track, but I do know that area. My brother is a security guard at the casino in Cherokee, and momma lives in the foothills on the east side of the mountains.

When you're done riding, go 30 miles north on 441/21 to Dillsboro. On Haywood Road (the main drag), go to the Dillsboro Smokehouse. Get the blackberry cobbler.

As we get a bit closer to launch we will have to talk some more about must see locations.

The things you learn about cabins

First I found this weird ass cabin..

Quote:
The cabin is powered by a water turbine.
See ( www.mechanophysics.20m.com )
Figuring that I never got beyond stage 1 of Rosetta Stone French for last summer's trip, I don't think I can become a water turbine mechanophysicst before March.

So, off to the next one..

Quote:
Donley Cabin is a primitive and historic structure in the heart of the Cherokee National Forest, offering visitors a glimpse of the past. The cabin does not have electricity, running water or locks on the door. Guests should be aware that visitors often frequent the cabin during tours of the area. It predates the Civil War and is among the oldest cabins available for rental in the Forest Service system.

The cabin offers access to a variety of recreational activities, including numerous trails and streams. Visitors must walk a quarter-mile from the parking area, along a slight grade and over a bridge on the North River, to the cabin. All equipment must be carried in.

Hrm, we'll just say the recovering monopod is only on parole right now and I don't think he's game for the 1/4 mile trek.

Then we found some really spendy ones that could house half of an Army of men..

Some that were sold

Finally we settled on one. However, things started to go a bit south during booking:

Her:So what are you doing down in Tellico
Me: Just sight seeing some of the roads
Her: So what kind of vehicle do you have?
Me: Uh, we are on some bikes
Her: [insert mental image of the South Park skit on Harleys]

LONNNG

PAUSE

Her: This cabin probably isn't for you
Me: Really, what not?
Her: It's on a gravel road
Me: It's okay, we got bikes that don't mind
Her: Pheh, you are dual-sports...that's good

Normal weather for Tellico March-ish

Just in case folks were interested, it could be a wee bit cold in Tellico until the sun pops up in March. Average mid-40s to mid-60s.

Anybody want to chose a track?

Or

Ferries! Northern Neck VA
