Looks like I'll be breaking the rule of not installing new electronics right before a big trip. I got a shipment notification from Garmin that my new Zumo shipped and should be here on Tuesday(It wasn't suppose to ship till Q3!?). I'll get it mounted up including a tether
 when it arrives. I will pack the 550 as a backup. Anyone have some bubble wrap so I can put my GPS in the top case?

Point Lookout Ferry to Smith Island
From Memorial Day, the passenger ferry (e.g, people only) runs from Pt Lookout state park to Smith Island Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays. It's about 1.5 hrs one way/$40per person. Anyhow, I guess you spend a few hours on the island then come back. Anybody have interest?

If you use Google Earth to look at older maps you can see so truck routes to the center of Smith's Island away from the main road. |

There are plenty of roads on Smith Island. Some of the locals even have cars, last time I was out there the only car that had proper MD registration was the Verizon service van.
