Thanks, I'll have to figure out where that fan connector lives. Sadly it will have to wait for a week, heading out of town for some R & R with my wife. She's been getting jealous of the time I'm spending with my new Austrian friend in the garage!

XC-W Gearing
Ok. So I took the 500 on a little ride to a local lake . Ride was around 45 miles. Bike has stock gearing. I kept looking for another gear at around 55-60 MPH. So I am thinking of going up a tooth on front sprocket or down 3 teeth on rear.(this would be a good time to try a D/T ironman sprocket). Has anyone on here felt the same with the stock XC-W gearing?
i feel it will handle the taller gearing with no prob and still have the grunt to work well in tight S/T. any ensight on this? I have seen posting touching on this but no real testing.

Also, I have a Hyde Racing plate - http://www.hyderacing.com/store/dirtbike/ktm/450_4t.htm It's light, and althogh it's missing a few chunks, it works like a champ. Can be a bit of a PITA to taking on and off with the front mount, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. Also, I think Geek tapes his mounts on er something.

yeah put some double sided foam servo tape between the mount and the frame the first time you tighten it up.
From then on.. mounting is a breeze. IMHO, they should include the tape. As it is... you can get some at any hobby shop.
