You're in good company Neil... first it was Cartwheel Sam, then Panadol Zanol, followed by the announcement from Shot Shoulder Coma and now poor old Black'nBluebull... this years pre-season Dakar scratchings list is one of the toughest on memory! (Has anyone heard if Fretigné has fallen down the stairs yet? )
Hopefully nothing will happen to Don Hatton at this late stage? What was it last year, a stray bale of hay!

It looks like Cyril Duplo has the right formula... give the moto training a miss; spend most of your fitness time on the mountain bike (the pundits claim they're safer... but after watching some of those Danny McCaskill Youtube videos... I reckon the jury's still out on that verdict ) and then ride the rallybike like you stole it in january!

He reckons a nice mud spa about two thirds of the way through the event does wonders for the complexion too...!

You're killing me, and the damn thing havent even started yet!

Going to be a hard F5ield this year, me think

/D

Some big post-Dakar news being floated around from reliable sources. Earth shattering in a relative sense. Maybe bigger than Coma's drop out?

Yawn. Are we going to go through the whole mud gate/ mustache BS this year too? I'm not specifically directing it at you Troy, but that stuff has been so beaten to death, it's not even funny anymore.

That said, I'm very excited about the start. It's going to be a real mix-up. It's easy to speculate on which rider possesses the skill to get into the top ten, but it's the unpredictable elements that really make this any rider's year. It's too bad about your leg Bluebull. Bummer.

Thanks for your insights, Ned. Looking forward to the great race unfolding throughout January again.

You're probably right... but until someone else f5ucks up at this coming years event, we just have to work with the material at hand I suppose... like a Volvo BBQ or a Belt tossing Qatari, the semi aquatic Mini road bump, a Redneck SPEED Supercharger or of course the ever popular "Scuse moi, I leave my gloves in ze bivouac" excuse... (No, hang on that was 2011... more old news! )

Maybe we'll just have to resort to heckling the Alberta rubber neckers in our midst, in order to keep ourselves amused until the 5th of january?

Cheers f5er's...

Sorry to hear this Neil. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

New Supplementary Regs: Art 17.2. Mandatory asbestos gloves, extra filters skins and SPF factor 4000 sunblock enforced for SS5...?
