I dont think its as bad as they say. This topic always comes up every year, and frankkly its a desert folks, there tons of shells and old whales and other crap that is in that sand, washed up and blown inland by the strong sea breezes. People only have to look harder to find more of them. Seriously there are much bigger environmental problems in Peru and Chile to be looking at. Like cities. and poisoned rivers.

The rest is a private matter so far.

keep an eye on Jean Azevedo # 28 from Brazil. He is back on bikes.
This year he will complete 15 participations which 12 of them on bikes. Dakar 2009, 2010 and 2012 raced on car category.

They will anounce the start times at the briefing of course, and after that it likely that they will put it up? I heard on Peru tv that they would be starting around 8 am tomorrow, but that was a week ago when i was recovering after the operation so maybe it was just a morphine dream....
Same as you, Eastern time zone. I'll dig out the real times later tonight...Pizza calls now. Gotta feed the kids.

From FB

David Reeve's Zambia Dakar 2013 Challenge #102

Over four hours of technical control, admin checks and podium appearance, bike is in parc Ferme and David and Ingo are having dinner. Tomorrow is riders briefing and assistance crew briefing and photo session of all the riders, at the Yacht club in Lima. Then it all kicks off on Saturday morning from Lima to Pisco approx 250 Km

Trust the Zambian to find the only grass about to park his bike on

Brutal, simply brutal F5pre-event pace!

In meetings all day, and I'm hopelessly behind. Like Jurassic I'm away from the big computers this weekend and will have to survive through TapaTalk and Dakar Android app until Sunday afternoon.

Doubt I can run even F5assistance this year. I'm pretty sure you have to take two weeks off work to even be in the F5 Top 10 these days. At least I will be nabbing the torrents and watching for PM's RallyRAIDio.

You guys rock on! TSC hilarious as always and all the info from the others is well appreciated and now Micha's awesome tracker is back again, it's going to be a freakin' good Rally!!!

It is time and I am just a fan, I can only imagine how the riders must feel.
