Unleashing the HO-CAT

I just attached a new MEOW GPX file to post #5 in the HO-CAT's thread in Laying Down Tracks-East. I changed the route from near North up to near Swansea. It now goes through a more rural and scenic area with a good bit more dirt. Saddlecreek Lane and Poole's Mill Road are very nice!

I hope to have the K60's mounted this weekend. I may not be able to ride the MEOW until later in June though. But I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I can rally Clint's crew to join me.

Clint's group? Dude, All this riding around Charleston is your fault. I'm just the Pain in the butt who's emailing all the time.
You'll live the K-60's , but air that rear way down for hard packed clay and gravel or it's flat-track sliding.

We're taking some of HoCat and meow on way up tomorrow early.

I spent all of my kitchen passes on a trip to the blue ridge last weekend. 931 miles, 4 days. I'm working on the pictures now. I hope to have them up early next week.

Are there any areas on the Ho-Cat where one might stealth camp for one night?

I havent made the trip {YET!}, but it looks like the HO-CAT comes pretty near Broxton Bridge Plantation. They have a campground complete with bath house, I dont recall what they would charge a primitive camper, but hook-up sites are very nicely priced.

Nice place, cycle friendly {equestrians may be there, so use good cycle manners!}

My club holds a DS there in conjunction with an enduro January each year.

I came very close to playing hooky after lunch today and heading for the HO-CAT. The only thing that stopped me was the sunset at 5:30 p.m. thing. I may just do it tomorrow, though.

I added a 98-mile loop off of the MEOW (see cyan-colored track below). I'd say it's about 70-80% dirt. See post #10 here for details and GPX file.
