Same day, late in the afternoon we went to Mazeri Village but we had a long walk in Mestia beforehand. Mestia seems quite touristic these days.

We wanted to see famous Georgian alpinist Michael Khergiani's museum house but unfortunately it was closed.

Sad...

Then we went to our base camp.

And had some tasty Khacapuri

Later in the day, we said goodbye to our friends

and moved to Mazeri Village

and camped.

Our humble bike..

It was a beautiful afternoon with good rest

But these stone slides on the slopes of Mt.Mazeri was a little distracting.

Same day my old friend Ibrahim showed up. We spontenaously planned this attempt on Mt.Ushba and he has travelled all the way down to Mazeri village from Turkiye. Quite a trip...

Then we decided to hike up for the rest of the day to see the trail which is leading to Ushba base camp. And to stretch our poor knees...

Guli Village ruins. Nobody's living there anymore...

Ice cold spring waters..

and all sorts of berries all the way.

On the way back we were three starving dogs, dreaming of the dinner but we did not have any bread. Tried our chance and asked for some bread from a house. The bread came along with some topping and some more khacapuri! Georgian hospitality!

And of course they did not accept any money for this. Best wishes to them from here once again!

Village is very nice and quite pastoral of course.

As it is a touristic area now, signs are good.

Nice report!

Nice report. I really like the pictures.
Within a month or so, I will be riding from the Netherlands to Georgia as well. This report is an inspiration! How good you think we'll manage if only speaking English and German?

Please continue posting :)

Thanks Steven. I don't think German works much there but you'll be ok with English. :)

I am sorry that I could not post recently but I'll try to write up.

Next is hiking up to Ushba base camp.

Next morning Ibo and I packed up...

to climb this:

But because of a combination of several reasons we had to bail off.

Then we have descended back to the village, then Mestia.
