We slept one more day in Mestia and the next day Ibo headed back to Turkiye and we rolled to Ushguli.

Mestia from the other side...

Road to Ushguli is all gravel..

And there are lots of water crossings

But scenery is great!

Mt.Skhara.

Then we reached Ushguli.

Thanks fellas, I'm happy if you like the posts...

Same day we decided to reach at least to Lentekhi but people we have asked about the distance and the conditions were quite unsure. Anyways we decided to go and this was the start of the road just after Usguli.

After passing some abondoned villages and some really tough but fun road we came to village with habitants. Road was a bit confusing and we decided to ask some directions. We knocked on a door and we were pulled rigth on to a late lunch table.

Georgians have real hospitality and I was comfortable enough to sit directly eat cheese, watermelon and drink cognac. What a feast! I got a little drunk.

Altough they insisted a lot to stay with them we had to leave.

Hitting the tarmac again was nice and we got faster.

We reached Kutaisi that evening under the rain and with the help of a gentleman found a nice small hotel with a garden to park the bike. Hotel is actually an old house run by an old lady. It was such a clean and tidy place this old lady was running behind us to spread some nylon sheets on the floor because of our wet and muddy panniers.

Next morning, we left Kutaisi for Tbilisi. Before entering Tbilisi we visited Mtskheta the old capital/center of Georgia.

Then before the evening we reached Tbilisi.

Then checked in Why Not Hostel, run by some Polish guys.

Tbilisi by night

We stayed only one night in Tbilisi and could only make a little city tour next day.

In the afternoon we rolled to Armenia.

Unfortunately very heavy rain started just after the border and kept us wet for straight 4 hours. Because we were already heavy with all those climbing gear I was not carrying motorcycling clothes. Altough I was having a strong g-tex jacket I was all wet on the legs.

Rain stopped sometimes in the end but in general it was ridiculously cold we were both trembling.

We managed to reach Sevan Lake which is just 60 km to Yerevan but we decided to find a place to warm up and sleep to not develop hypothermia.

We found a lakeside hotel and there were a wedding inside. Unfortunately there were no food for us but it did not matter because our priority was a hot shower. We both entered the shower at the same time and for 45 minutes tried to raise our body temperature. Then we cooked some soup, pasta and ate dried fruits. We were back to the life and there was hail outside. August and hail big as hazelnuts.

After a good sleep we went to Yerevan.

Nice stone work everywhere...

We were lucky to have some fun at yerevan Music Festival.

In the hostel we met this German guy Joseph who was on his way to Australia on his ninefiddy. Somehow he could not resist the Turkish hospitality and had to stay in Turkiye for 2 months.

Northern Armenia.

This road leads to the Georgian border. As there is no active border gate between Turkiye and Armenia we had to turn back to Georgia.

Acarstan part of Georgia, it is actually the border of Turkiye.

And later in the evening we managed to reach back to the Sarp border. And this was the happy end. I hope I could give you some idea about the are (altough i did not like my way of writing reports ).

Hope to see you in the next RR.

Fantastic!

I can't wait for my next trip to Turkey -- I haven't made it past the west coast yet, but I have friends in Ankara. Soon, soon.
